This is an older establishment with a definite college hangout vibe. The outdoor patio is a nice spot to sit and dine, especially in good weather. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite measure up. The pizza tasted more like a reheated freezer pizza with a premade crust, and the sub sandwich lacked flavor—I had to add ranch just to make it more enjoyable. On the plus side, the service was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience more pleasant overall.

Pub n sub has been a Reno/UNR tradition for 50+ years. Every UNR student knows it as a place to get pizza, sandwiches and other bar food. They have a great patio out front and a nice area in the back for those crowded nights. The Bacon Cheeseburger was outstanding, the sandwich my wife ordered was good and the salad our friend had looked tasty. Not living in the area has limited my visits to several years apart but they still do a great job. The atmosphere is college bar/restaurant and they should never change it.

I can’t believe that in all the years I’ve lived in Reno I had never been here until today! I absolutely love finding great, local, family owned businesses and this one checks all the boxes for me! I suppose the only possible downside for me is that I’m a whiskey drinker and they don’t have a full bar, but there were plenty of other options!
My mastermind group went here today. I got a salad, one got a sandwich, one a pizza, and we all share a basket of onion rings…and everything was delicious!
Will definitely be back!

I used to come here TWICE A WEEK for the cheesesteak and those legendary seasoned fries. Used to.
Then someone decided it was a good idea to replace perfection with these new battered, greasy, oil-soaked impostors they’re calling fries.
These things aren’t fries! They’re soggy regret sticks. I didn’t order tempura sadness. I ordered CRISPY seasoned fries, not something that feels like it was dunked in a deep fryer, taken out, put back in, and then emotionally neglected.
The cheesesteak is still amazing, which honestly makes this even more painful. It’s like watching a favorite band still play great songs but ruin the encore on purpose.
Fix the fries. Bring back the old ones. Do the right thing.
Also employee Emma Brown stole my Zyns while I was there and vanished like a ghost into the kitchen.

Atmosphere was decent, Tree Hugger has noticeably declined in recent years and the Zucchini sticks were terrible – like breaded mush.

I’ve been looking for excellent pizza and I found it here. I ordered the small pizza with pepperoni and sausage, shown. It did not disappoint. Very nice crust, ample sauce and cheese, with a hearty amount of toppings. Most importantly it tasted great. This is a quaint little neighborhood pub and they offer a robust menu of sandwiches as well. I’ll definitely be back to see if their sandwiches are as good as their excellent pizza.

The atmosphere is the huge factor here. The inside ambiance feels like you time traveled back to the 1980’s or 70’s. Winter time they have their large wood fire place inside. They also have a large fenced in backyard area with grass, plenty of seating and another fire pit. The food is always great. The blackened chicken sandwich is what I always get. Wife gets a different burger each time and they’re always on point. I have tried almost everything from their sub’s, pizzas, wings, appetizers (been coming here since 2010), and I have yet to have a bad food item. Their happy hour is my only complaint (just 1 hour lol), but that aside I still love coming here and will continue as long as they’re open!

Just had lunch here because we were craving some subs! Came here a few times in college but only ever ate the pizza. Was really impressed with the quality of ingredients. Subs were delicious, filling, and fairly priced. We’ll for sure be coming here more often.
