Reviews
We ordered Fish and Chips, Haddock was great, Steak Tips, cooked perfectly, and an order of Steamed Clams, delish.
The portions were good, and we left quit satisfied. So I’d recommend stopping in, try it out, and tell them you read my review.
We sat at the bar and the bartender greeted us. She didn’t tell us her name or offer a drink menu. We asked for one and it was crusty and stained. Got our drinks- the 20oz Tuckermans was $13!!! We even asked her to verify as that was far higher than anywhere else we had gone. The glass was filthy with crusty stuff all over the outside. My margarita was good.
Ordered a burger and a chicken sandwich. Food took a long time and came out cold. Had to ask for utensils and napkins. My gluten free burger bun was FROZEN. The bartender looked shocked as she said “we don’t even keep those in the freezer.” Well, it was indeed frozen. They microwaved it for me after I asked. My smash burger was crumbling because it was so dry. The sweet potato fries were yummy. My husband got the chicken sandwich and enjoyed it, but said his onion rings were flavorless and cold.
We felt like an inconvenience to the bartender the entire time. She rolled her eyes and seemed annoyed at my request to have a burger bun that was actually warm.
I gave two stars because the decor and natural lighting were nice. We typically give things a second shot, but likely won’t at Pub 23.
We stopped in for our first visit and it was pretty quiet. The place is small but cozy, with decent views and big deck energy. The menu is on the smaller side, but the drinks were good, and the po’ boy was definitely the highlight for me—super tasty!
The bartender was friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall good vibe. Parking is limited, so you may need to park across the street near the boat area, but it wasn’t a huge issue.
One thing worth noting: I overheard the bartender talking with the manager and learned that they allow well-behaved dogs out on the porch—and even bring them water! As a dog mom, that’s a big win for me and definitely a reason I’d come back.
If you’re looking for gluten-free options, forget this place, who puts gluten in their steak tips.
There are almost no options for anyone with celiac, so we had the burgers and they were ok but who doesn’t carry cheddar cheese, they only had American; they do offer a gluten-free bun but decided against it giving how things were going so far
Service was garbage, we went there around 5:00 p.m. and there was almost no one there but yet three employees at the counter and our server barely came up to our table which was just 8 ft away
If you’re looking for desert , do not bother with the cheesecake flight, it’s a flight of the same damn cheesecake with just a light drizzle of chocolate and caramel and the last one without
The reason it’s two stars and not one is because the bacon, mashed potatoes and chicken fingers (non gluten-free) were good
Even with those few positives, won’t go back
