Food was hot and fresh. Large portions for a reasonable price. If I’m in the area I’ll stop here and try something different.
The table salsa is horrible. The ‘hot’ salsa is amazing. If you combined these two things it’s great. The table salsa is diced tomatoes with cilantro. The tamales and any kind of ground beef is really bland and under seasoned. The queso is a yellow/Velveeta style. Which still tasted pretty good. But again, it’s Tex Mex. The ‘deep fried street corn’ is a cool idea. I don’t get it though. It’s still corn on the cob salted, and deep fried?
The only chicken we had was in the signature tacos and that was good. So I’d imagine the fajitas are decent.
The signature tacos are good. We did like those and the nachos are really decent. I would strongly suggest doing something with the shells. The soft shells feel like they just came out of bag. And the hard shells taste like they’ve been sitting out for awhile. Just crunchy enough to serve, but a tiny bit stale.
Accidentally left my credit card and had to cancel with Chase because someone used it to go to a footwear store after I left a voice message to hold my card in safe keeping until I could come get it.
Would not go back. Don’t leave your credit card!
Our first time visiting this place. At first pulling up it was dark, I wasn’t sure we were at the right address. Then I saw the picnic tables outside. Not sure if the lights were off or they do not have outdoor lighting, Light would be a good addition. Walking past the picnic table was kinda sketch, seems to be a place for locals and their dogs to hang out..alot! We opted to park on street (which is a one way street) after seeing the back parking lot, which was also dark. There is also a back door that a lot of people use to enter. When we walked in we were I noticed that there was ALOT of graffiti everywhere, on the walls, on the chairs, just everywhere. We were greeted by a young lady, we told her we need a table for 9 never saw her again. A man which I assume was the manager, came and my husband helped him put table together. We ordered the $5 – 20 ounce margaritas with light mixer. They were worth the $5, not sure how they did the light mixer, more water, I don’t know, oh well. I just don’t like it. As our other guest started arriving we noticed we needed more seating. They were very quick to arrange it. Then we got our server – Alexis. Alexis seemed to be holding the place together. She was the only server on the floor and took care of all the tables with the help of the manager guy. We did not wait for drinks, napkins, silverware, nothing she was very much with it. I give her a 5 star. She even split the faitas orders in the back. When it came out i had to keep asking was it a whole order split, because it seemed like alot if it had not been. So one order of faitas is plenty to share, which several people at our table did. The jalapeno poppers were big and tasty. The salsa could stand to have the recipe redone. Chips were greasy and thin. Food was good and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. The bar was busier then the restaurant, which seemed to be a popular hang out. Plenty of big tvs to watch.
