I stumbled upon this “fast-premium” dining spot tucked away in a town square behind the main street, and I’m glad. The Power & Light District was incredibly lively with a concert at the T-Mobile Center, and while places like Chipotle were overflowing, this spot was a bright, clean, and calm alternative.
The menu is extensive—offering everything from pizzas to healthy bowls—so I asked the staff for a recommendation. The team here is incredibly charming and friendly; they suggested a protein bowl that was a perfect test kitchen perfected comfort food, everything just balanced out. It had a fantastic flavor profile with chicken, wild rice, sweet potato, pickled cabbage, and some really cool sauces.

The speed was on point—my food was out in 1–2 minutes! I joked that they must be trained by Chick-fil-A. For about $25, I got a high-quality, clean meal that beat a greasy hotel restaurant burger any day. It’s the perfect East Coast “CAVA” alternative for the H&R Block crowd nearby or families looking for a healthy, quick bite. It’s hard to find from the street, but absolutely worth the walk into the square!

The El Jefe bowl was ok. The bison and chicken were ok. I was asked how I would like the meat cooked, patties seemed like they were press cooked, cooked by applying downward force, and both meats were dry. I would have liked more sauce, but the bowl was filling. The tables were dirty, we used our napkins and water to wipe it down ourselves. I would maybe go 1 more time to try something else. I also liked the music being played. For a $20 bowl, I would have liked a better experience.

My first visit to Protein House left me with mixed feelings, but overall, it was an interesting experience.

The restaurant boasts a super modern aesthetic with a high-energy vibe, which I really enjoyed. The decor, including the fresh plants, was a definite highlight. I also loved being able to watch the staff prepare the food right in front of us – it adds a great touch of transparency and freshness. Everyone on the staff was polite, which was much appreciated.

The menu at Protein House is truly expansive, offering a huge variety of options and so many choices it almost feels overwhelming in the best way! The food itself was delicious and arrived in impressively large portions, definitely satisfying our appetites.

However, there were a couple of areas that could be improved. Parking proved to be quite difficult; we had to drive around the block a couple of times to find a spot during the middle of the day. Additionally, the staff, while polite, seemed to struggle with menu knowledge, having a bit of difficulty answering our questions. Lastly, the cleanliness of the dining area could use some attention, as many tables and chairs were dirty and needed wiping down, and dirty dishes needed to be cleared.

They did give me a refund. But the first and only smoothie I’ve ever ordered from protein house was full of blended chunks of clear plastic. I drank half of it wondering what the tiny gritty things were until I finally slurped up a large enough chunk of plastic to realize I had been drinking said plastic bits.

I am glad they gave me a refund. But this is still just so unacceptable. I genuinely have never experienced something like this in my entire life. How that could happen and get served to a customer is beyond my understanding. Hopefully the shards of hard plastic I did drink wont wind up injuring my GI tract in the coming hours.

That’s not a chunk of ice in the picture. That’s the chunk of plastic that made me realize why the smoothie had such a weird texture.

I wish there was one in every city and every town. This is such a great place with delicious and well priced things. I got a peanut butter shake, the boss bowl, which had bison patties (grass fed) and the kids pancakes were fantastic too. Anna ate her eggs so what a great deal. Great place.

They sold me an old Wellness Shot. I stopped by there store on 2/28 see picture below. So I’m not happy about that. It was extremely tart/sour. Is the date marked in red the sell by date or the date it was juiced?

Protein house definitely advertises itself as being a healthy alternative to fast food. Offering tons of natural ingredients in their foods.

Unfortunately… They seem to not know what seasoning is… You can make a hamburger with seasoning and it’s still be healthy you can also make a hamburger not as dry as a hockey puck… I know I asked for my burger well done but this is so beyond well done that there’s no flavor in it and it feels like I’m just eating the grill.

The fries are good, but it also feels like there’s no flavor.

I honestly can’t come here because in all truth I can make all of this at home with the same ingredients for much less of the price than protein house offers. $20 is unreasonable for ingredients that cost massively less at Walmart and are the same exact thing that is being used here.

The staff is really nice and the interior is really pretty but it’s just the food. I bet their breakfasts are a lot better

Make sure your meat is cooked how you request before leaving if it’s for takeout. Ordered “well done” for my mama’s food and it was “medium” at best. She was NOT pleased but it was too much of a hassle to return to complain or get it remade with all these sports tournaments in town; finding parking was hard enough.

The interior of the restaurant is so chic and unique! The colors really work well together which caused a quiet dining environment! I was so excited when our food came out because it was so full of color and promise! However, based on the pricing, the flavoring did not meet my expectations. The only flavor I encountered in my bowl was the BBQ sauce paired with my chicken. I also ordered one of the juices and was disappointed with the temperature and texture of the drink. I received it warm with a watery substance at the bottom while the juice stayed afloat up top. The wrap was juicy and full of flavor that consisted of rich cheese and meats! If you are looking for a quick bit for lunch, this would be a good place to visit. However, I would not recommend this for dinner outings or social activities. The seasoning and execution of their products are not worth the prices.

The food was great and I love the idea of a portobello mushroom as a bun but it was too big to bite into and too hot to pick up. It’s looks beautiful tho. I love the high protein after a workout but the prices are quite hefty. Not that it’s not worth the price, but it may be that once in a while thing.
