Good service.
Even though it wasn’t very deep, given the number of employees behind the counter, somebody should have shoveled the snow before noon when it started melting.
Support our local coffee shop! I look forward to going back and trying something else.
My first time here was a disappointment (see below), and the owner was interested in better understanding my experience, so we ended up having a great conversation on the phone. So glad that I returned a week later.
I get the idea that everybody has different expectations for what makes for a great coffee shop experience. Coffee shops have a tough time meeting everyone’s needs. And while not every coffee shop has the ability to meet these needs, the best places are the ones that are good at listening to customers and doing their best to accommodate them. I would say that DW Coffee is doing just that, being very receptive to feedback and trying to make things better.
I brought a different friend along for this visit. We ordered a couple of lattes. Mine was a London Fog Tea Latte. Instead of my usual scone, I went with the Morning Bun.
The owner happened to be there and took my drink order. She was able to make it exactly as I like it: fully steep the tea, add a couple pumps each of lavender and vanilla, then add the creamy frothed milk. It ended up having the right flavors, a nice texture with the milk/foam, and the perfect temperature (140°F-ish). You know you are getting quality frothed milk when the foam lasts to the very bottom of the cup.
The Morning Bun was excellent. They warmed it up and included a little plastic cup of cinnamon/honey butter—just enough to add a bit to every piece that I tore off. So delicious.
There are a lot of really good coffee shops to choose from. People have different reasons for sticking with the ones that meet and/or exceed their expectations. With that in mind, I’ll be sure to return to this one!

Been to DW Coffee in Rochester several times, and I really love that space. So when I learned they were opening one in Wind Lake, which is closer to Muskego, I was very excited. I took the opportunity to bring a friend along and was glad to finally check it out.
Food:
We ordered a couple of lattes and some bakery items. I got my usual London Fog Tea Latte and a scone. When ordering, I made sure to let them know exactly what I wanted: whole milk, a little lavender, a little vanilla, and extra frothy. When the London Fog was delivered to the table, it was filled so high that the tea was spilling onto the plate. There was a little foam on top, but not much texture underneath. It was the right temperature and had good flavor.
One small suggestion on the tea latte: most places steep the tea to the right strength, remove the tea bag, and then add the frothed milk. Leaving the tea bag in tends to disrupt the texture and takes away from that smooth, luxurious foam.
They didn’t have any scones in the case at first, but I was in luck because they had just brought some out from the kitchen. I assumed that meant they were freshly baked. Unfortunately, when I received mine, it was actually cold. It almost felt like it had been thawed rather than freshly baked. I took it back and asked if they could warm it up a bit, which definitely helped.
Service:
All of the staff we interacted with were nice and welcoming. We got friendly greetings, and they helped us through the ordering process, asking the right questions about tea and flavorings. One small miss was that they didn’t ask if we wanted the bakery item warmed up.
Atmosphere:
The place is newly opened and has been lovingly remodeled. The interior isn’t very large, but it feels bright and inviting. There are large windows across the front that bring in lots of natural light. Everything inside looks new, from the floors to the walls to the counters, and it’s all very well done.
I’m glad we stopped in. This side of town can really benefit from a solid coffee shop. For me, they still need to work out some of the kinks with the tea lattes and the bakery items. With a little attention to detail and continued feedback, I think they can get there. I definitely plan to give them another try in the not too distant future.
I was there at about 8:30 I believe. The board was dark I couldn’t read it so I pulled up to the window to let someone know. All they had to do was let me know. I could have come back.
I had the Cubana Panini, which came with a pickle spear and potato chips, and you will see in my pictures how absolutely charming it was packaged for my to go order, it was amazing and perfectly made. I also had the Java chip Frappuccino, which was the best one I’ve ever had..
I will be Going here often!!
Waited over 20 minutes for a drip coffee and Latte. We were handed 3 incorrect drinks and had to hand them back. Our order was typed incorrectly so there was an issue with payment too.
The drive thru time has been 20+ minutes for me recently.
Overall – great coffee! Cozy atmosphere! Just needs some fine tuning.
