The açaí bowls and shakes make the employees who seem annoyed to be taking your order worth it! Whenever I’m visiting the salt lake area I ALWAYS stop at the protein foundry and get the Rio bowl. I’ve tried several shakes as well and have never been disappointed. I will say the workers often seem out to lunch or like they don’t want to be there.

I just learned about this place in June. I’ve been going about once per week, I work nearby.
I’ve been ordering the PB Extra smoothie. I’ve been needing to substitute out the banana for blueberries because bananas are too sweet for my nutrition goals. I’ve been adding kale, this is one of the best ways to have kale without feeling like you’re having kale.
My other go to menu item is the Zeus bowl.
On the days I get to eat from here, my appetite is completely satisfied. I love that about it here. Afterwards I can just focus on my life and food is the last thing on my mind.
The staff at this location is very kind. I always feel bad asking for substitutes. They’ve been very cool about it though.

I’ve been a 2-3 times a week customer for 6+ years and today when I went in the girl at the front counter, when I asked her to please not just fill my order 3/4’s of the way from the top, told me if I wanted it filled to the top she would have to charge me more. They charge enough to at least fill the container. They just lost a big time customer. I would recommend everyone going to a different location than the Cottonwood Heights store.

It was okay till we realized it’s advertised as “açaí bowls” when it’s blended frozen banana with acai, which is fine but I wish they were a little more honest about the product, esp for the price.

Delicious! I had the chocovado and had them blend peanut butter into the base along with adding it to the top. Love that it has avocado blended in also! Kind of loud with the blender always going, so not a place you can really study. Also, I’ve been there a few times and none of the employees ever smile or have a warm greeting. It is, however, very clean.

Second visit:
I ordered the Velvet Samba with PB added to the mix and top. Not quite filled to the top, like last time. Maybe it’s dependent off the type of bowl ordered?? I did ask for Maca powder as an extra but nobody here seemed to know what that was even though it shows on the menu.
Third visit:
Every time I come here the quality is inconsistent. Ordered a keto shake and it tasted like a blend of ice. Not smooth and wouldn’t sip through the straw. Unlikely to return soon.

I ordered through door dash having been to this location multiple times before. I ordered a large acai bowl like normal but upon delivery only received a portion of what is normally in the large container. In the past it’s always been full to the top.
Really I’m just disappointed as the food is great but whether it’s delivery or not you shouldn’t charge full price for a portion of the order

I wanted to try a protein shake. Ordered online. My order was partially ready when I arrived 15 mins later. Had to ask for the missing requested add-ons to be added. The gentleman at the register was nice and accommodating.

The Açai bowls at Protein Foundry are simply delicious. Besides their taste, what truly surprised me is the price, which is very competitive compared to other places. Here, they serve generous portions that leave you completely satisfied. The atmosphere is cozy, and the decoration is excellent, making the experience even more enjoyable. However, I believe they could improve in terms of customer service. On several occasions, I noticed that there were many children working, apparently without the supervision of an adult to guide them in providing 100% quality service. Despite this, I always come back to this place because I have evaluated others, and without a doubt, they serve really well here.

I came into the protein foundry today on my lunch as I walked in I was not greeted , not one employee had a smile on their face. When I tipped there was not a thank you. When I grabbed my order I told the girl thank you and she said nothing to me and didn’t look at me either. I felt very uncomfortable while being in there . The food tasted good, but disappointed in the service .
