How is this restaurant not more popular? One of my family members lives nearby so we walked to this restaurant on a Monday night. Service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious! All six of us said we would gladly return.

Often times restaurants have a nice atmosphere with OK food, or great food but not a great vibe. Not so with Protagonist. Great restaurant design with books on shelves, nice lighting, perfect for a brunch or date night. I love how they designed it. We ordered the chiliquiles, strawberry French toast, and biscuits and gravy. All of it was fantastic. Added pork to the chiliquiles which really added flavor. Perfect level of spice. Large portions and everyone enjoyed their food. We’ll be back!

Loved our experience here! We love smash burgers and knew we had to try the smash burger here after reading reviews. This one is now #1 on our list after several other restaurants failed to measure up to our original #1. The burger was perfectly seasoned with the slight signature crispness of a smash burger while still maintaining a good and non-greasy juiciness. 10/10

Excellent true chef created food. From the entrees and burgers all the way down to the french fries. Now, one might think that everyone should be able to get french fries right, but so many other places don’t. So, are other places just lazy, or customers apathetic? I don’t get it [end fries rant]. The important thing is this place gets everything right.

I’ve had one meal here, but wow! What a meal! Stopped in for lunch and noted the menu says breakfast entrees served until 3:00 p.m. Some interesting items, including a frittata, but I ordered the Garden Hash Delicious! Potato hash with carrots and topped with 2 poached eggs and hollandaise. Added chorizo. $16 but the portion was huge. Took half home!

We stumbled onto this restaurant but we will be back for sure. Food is outstanding. Each item and dish is prepared with a lot of care. Great flavors. Great presentation. And the servers are super friendly and knowledgeable. Our waiter Jay had lots of good ideas and recommendations. This is the proverbial diamond in the rough – looks like a corner bar but the food is first rate.

Cool spot! We had the jerk chicken and the smash burger! Food was great, the jerk chicken needed a little bit more spice but overall delicious! The service was kinda slow but it was okay.
