For us it was the best meal in Vienna. We had been to Sri Nataraj, Ganesha and spice of India. We are North Indians but love south Indian flavors, which may also have contributed to our preference.
It seems the latest menu has not been uploaded. I couldn’t find the dish I had ordered. Luckily I had taken a photo of that section
But oh my god, I should’ve trusted my instincts.
We ordered a Masala Dosa and a Veg Thali. The dosa looked like it had just survived an oil spill — dry, chewy, and clearly made without love (or skill). The chutneys and sambhar had absolutely no flavor; the coconut chutney was made from dry desiccated coconut, which is honestly shocking for a so-called South Indian restaurant.
Then came the Veg Thali — plenty of curries, but none worth remembering. The only thing remotely decent was the samosa. That’s it.
We still finished our food because we were starving (and it was pricey), but the experience was a huge letdown.
To be honest, the best thing about Prosi is their Indian supermarket right across from the restaurant. You’re better off grabbing some Maggi and tea from there and enjoying a desi meal at home / airbnb instead of dining here.
All of the utensils were extremely old and worn out. The cups and glasses looked outdated and poorly maintained. Even the complimentary items we received were served in what did not appear to be proper restaurant-grade glassware, which made the overall experience feel unprofessional.
On top of that, the tissue paper provided was very limited, which felt unnecessarily stingy and inconvenient. Small details like this make a big difference in how customers perceive service quality.
The service itself was also quite slow. We had to wait longer than expected, and there was little attentiveness from the staff.
Overall, the restaurant needs serious improvement in presentation, hygiene standards, and service efficiency. Unfortunately, I would not recommend it based on my experience.
