We have visited Prosecco several times before and have always really enjoyed it. The ambiance is beautiful, and on previous occasions the service had been excellent.

This time, we visited as a group of eight to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. We decided to order a few appetizers to share. Two of my friends ordered a salad, scallops, and a pasta to split between them. It seems there may have been a misunderstanding when the order was placed, because two orders of scallops were brought to the table instead of one.

My friends clarified to the server that they had only intended to order one scallop dish to share. The server took one plate back, and about a minute or two later returned and asked the rest of us if we would like some scallops to share. Since the extra dish appeared to be the result of a misunderstanding, we assumed it was being offered as a courtesy from the restaurant and agreed to take it.

Aside from this situation, the food quality was excellent as always, and the rest of the service was good. We shared bread and birthday cake as well, and overall the evening was enjoyable.

However, when the bill arrived, we noticed that we had been charged for both additional scallop dishes. We were surprised, as we had not ordered the extra scallops and had assumed they were being offered as a courtesy due to the confusion.

As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I understand that mistakes can happen. However, in my experience, situations like this are often handled by offering the extra dish as a courtesy, especially when it results from a misunderstanding in the order.

Unfortunately, this situation left us feeling somewhat disappointed with how it was handled. We still appreciate the restaurant and the quality of the food, but we hope this feedback helps improve the communication and service experience in the future.

In all honesty, the best thing I tried was the veal, but I don’t get a picture because I ate it so quickly. The meatball app was great and so was the chocolate cake. However, the best aspect, in my opinion, was getting the round table in the back. I felt like a king.

We had a reservation for 8:15 pm but were only seated about half an hour later. Unfortunately, the service continued to be very slow throughout the evening. Our drink order was taken hesitantly and the drinks themselves also arrived very slowly. During the meal, we often had to chase after drinks and even refill them ourselves.

The starter arrived relatively quickly and tasted excellent. The main course was also very good and nicely presented, but we had to wait at least another 25 minutes for it. Overall, the food quality was high and everything tasted great.

However, the service significantly spoiled the experience. There were long waiting times, little attention from the staff, and poor organization. Even when we asked for the bill, we had to wait another 20 minutes.

Considering the rather high prices, we expected a much better level of service. It’s a shame, as the food itself has a lot of potential.

This is one a great Italian restaurant that literally never disappoints! If you’re downtown, do yourself a favor and book a reservation. It’s also a great date night restaurant. Their pastas are all made in house and it will be a crime to skip dessert and their legendary tiramisu. After a trip to Italy, I can confirm the delicious dessert is 100% authentic! Service is always top notch too no matter how busy they get.

Prosecco is an absolute gem in Chicago. We had an incredible experience from start to finish, and it deserves every bit of praise.

We sat at the chef’s table, which was such a fun, intimate way to watch the magic happen. Chef Mark is truly exceptional — warm, talented, and absolutely on his game. Every single dish he sent out was spot-on, but the standout for me was the seafood pasta. Fresh, perfectly cooked, loaded with flavor… honestly one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had anywhere.

The entire meal felt intentional and elevated, and the service matched the quality of the food — attentive without hovering, friendly without trying too hard. Just dialed in.

If you’re looking for a gorgeous Italian dinner with fresh pasta, great energy, and a chef who clearly loves what he does, Prosecco is a must-visit. Highly recommend.

I went in for the restaurant week menu. Overall, a decent experience, the staff were very nice and attentive. The food was great in portion, but too salty for my taste. The fish was the best thing on the menu. I have to take one star off for the pistachio gelato, it tasted like store-bought.

Stopped in after a show and to take advantage of Restaurant Week. The menus they offered included a variety of dishes and all were amazing! Perfect portions as well. Service was fast and excellent. Great for date night or dinner with the family.

This is a classy Italian restaurant in the River North Gallery District. Atmosphere filled with beautiful artwork reminds me of Venice, Italy. Perfect for romantic dates and special occasions. Everything we ordered off the menu was outstanding. The vodka dirty martinis with blue cheese olives were wicked good. Waitstaff is kind and pleasant. We had a great experience on my first visit. If you get there early enough, there’s street parking. I managed to park right in front of the restaurant for a 6 PM reservation. Parking gets a little tight after that.

We ordered several dishes to share family style. A few favorites from the menu, Avocado with grilled Maine lobster and prawns, the Wagyu Carpaccio, The Meatball, Polpo Grilled baby octopus, crispy fingerling potatoes. All delicious! Crème Brûlée for dessert was divine.

They also have happy hour from 5pm – 6:15pm so if you get there early enough, there is a lovely assortment of cocktails, appetizers, and main menu items for almost half the price.

This restaurant is definitely on my recommendations and revisit list.

The food we were able to try was outstanding—we had the avocado starter, mussels, and white fish, all of which were excellent. Unfortunately, we never got to experience a full meal or dessert due to poor service.

Service started off fine but deteriorated as the evening progressed. The staff appeared overwhelmed by the Valentine’s Day crowd, and the front-of-house team, including the hostess, seemed flustered. They even lost our coat check tickets. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation and were asked to wait at the bar, but the lychee martini was disappointing, and the rest of the cocktail menu was unappealing.

Once seated, it took over an hour for our appetizer—the avocado starter and mussels—to arrive. Then, as we waited for our entrée, the waiter assured us, “The branzino will be out shortly.” Confused, we corrected him, explaining that we had ordered the white fish, not branzino. After that mix-up, we had to wait another hour for the correct dish. When it finally arrived, the fish was delicious, but we then had to wait another 30 minutes for the pasta—only to receive the wrong order. We had requested shrimp pasta but were instead given a mushroom dish.

Meanwhile, we noticed that a couple who had arrived after us was able to place their order without any issues and received their food promptly. When we pointed out our incorrect pasta order, the waiter told us it was too late to place another order since the kitchen was closing. Instead of offering a solution, he simply left the incorrect dish at our table and suggested we eat it anyway. As a consolation, he brought us a glass of limoncello, which was unfortunately just as disappointing.

Frustrated and still hungry, we ended up leaving and grabbing pizza on the way home. That said, the food we did get to try was excellent, so we’re willing to give the restaurant another chance. Hopefully, service will be better on a less busy night.
