This is the first time I’ve eaten here since prior to the renovation. With the changes, the venue looks very nice. I think they even have a new truck (or it’s just freshly painted). There’s evens guy outside the truck making grilled sandwiches fresh to order. I’ll take and upload photos at a later date. Since I wasn’t planning in writing this review today, I did not take any.
However, with the new changes came changes to the menu a will. If I’m not mistaken, I think they may have a new chef/cook on board. With that, came the elimination of some popular items and they are not serving mostly sandwiches. I have added photos of both the old and new menus to this review.
About the old menu. When I pulled up at Main Street Parking lot, I checked the menu in my Club One app and it shows the old (much better and more delicious) menu. Therefore, I went in expecting to appease my taste buds with an old fave the Garbage Bowl and was denied to see the, previously discontinued, Project Cracklin’ Skins were back and I’d be enjoying them shortly. But my taste buds and my heart were shattered to learn that that menu no longer exists and I had to settle for what they now serve.
The Garbage Bowl was a mixture of chips, brisket, chicken, bacon, and beer and cheese sauce. It came with a side of coleslaw that I’d mix in and it was so delicious. Not sure why they decided to lay it to rest but, they did the same to the Crackin’ Skins as well, which to my heartbreak, is not back on the menu either. I was told that they don’t even have brisket anymore. SMH! What were they thinking with this makeover!
Anyway, I spent $37.93 on a small tray of BBQ Pork Belly Mac n Cheese and a BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich. The sandwich came with coleslaw and French fries. The cost was not worth the meal I received.
I’ll start with the coleslaw. It is but maybe a bit too salty for my taste. The portion is accurate for the meal but you do have the option to choose beans instead. It doesn’t taste like the coleslaw that has before so, I’m guessing my suggestion that there’s a new chef/cook is correct.
The fries were just a tad overcooked, not burned, so they still tasted like fries. Like, who can mess up french fries tho lol.
The pulled pork sandwich is actually pretty good. It comes on a brioche bun with a nice sized-portion of meat and just the right amount BBQ sauce, which is sweet/tangy. I’d highly recommend this sandwich.
As for the BBQ pork belly mac n cheese, I’d once you mix it all up, it can’t be called BBQ if you can barely taste the drizzle of sauce on top. As for the pork belly, the tiny pieces were dry and overcooked. I couldn’t enjoy it because I kept biting into hard pieces of meat and hoping to taste a hint of the sauce. I finally gave up on it and gave it to Turbo. He enjoyed it immensely.
Needless to say, I was not happy with my meal and extremely disappointed in the menu change. However, again, I will say that the remodeled looks great. They just need to listen to their customers and bring back those items people are asking for.
As for the service, the staff is just as great as they always have been. The girl who took my order made it a point to advise her manager of my discontent in the menu changes and’s that the menu was not updated in the Club One app. He came over to speak with me about it while I waited for my food. Keri up the good work guys, you’re doing great!
! Absolutely Fantastic! Your kindness off the charts!❤️
Much love and light!
Can’t wait to be back!
M & G !
All of the food was “”off the hook”… When people who love their jobs and what they do for others, it seriously shows!
Christian did for me, one of the kindest things that I can only respond by saying thank you Christian, and let the girls know also how awesome y’all are. The other Chef up in the Crow’s nest, I met briefly I don’t know his name but he is awesome as well.
Places like this are hard to find, “full service” as you well know.
I was served, they not only showed their professionalism but they also showed their kindness, Please…..always take care of them! These people were just as hard for the money as anybody else (x10)
So as a favor to me if you read this, please tip them, tip them, tip them…. You’d be surprised that to them it’s not just about the money it’s about doing what they love to do and that’s serving some of the best barbecue “North of Texas” I’ve had in a long time!!!
They are right on Fremont Street and you can’t miss them, and when you go see them, tell him Thomas from Texas sent you, and give them a wink, they will definitely hook you up…..
Thank you Christian, thank you to the other Chef who was cooking at the time, he is super awesome as well. I just don’t know his name!
God bless you all! And I promise you will be enjoying some of the best barbecue north of Pecos, plus the Philly cheesesteaks are also the bomb!!!
Very sincerely, very honestly…
Senior Chaplain Thomas
The picture below is some of the most off the Wall brisket you’ll ever eat.
Everything is good and tomorrow I’m having a Philly cheese steak and maybe you’ll catch me there!
Just ask for “Thomas from Texas” or Christian the MasterChef LOL, he’s one of a kind and he has a heart of gold.
Right Christian??
Love you bro, and that thing we were talking about with your family, I just asked God to take care of you and them….. Sometimes we live with stuff all our lives, it’s not stuff we want but it’s how you handle it and your attitude towards it that makes all the difference my brother.
Love you guys, talk to you later!
The ribs were dry, flavorless, and had a strange texture. The mac and cheese didn’t taste like anything — we honestly had no idea what we were eating. Everything lacked seasoning, depth, or any real flavor. On top of that, there’s no comfortable seating and the heat is overwhelming.
I do not recommend this place. If you still decide to try it, go with very low expectations. There are far better food options in Las Vegas.
Don’t let the pictures deceive you, food wasn’t good.
