This place is decidedly not the normal sort of venue I frequent. There’s a large sign of sorts on the building exterior proclaiming “welcome bikers”. To clarify, I am not a biker, nor does my general appearance reflect any sort of associated stereotype for someone who chooses to ride a motorcycle.
The interior is fairly small. There’s a bar that runs the length of most of the space, a single pool table, and a few other tables. The floor is a combination of wood laminate and pretty old looking carpet, while the overhead consists of primarily plain drop ceiling. Lighting is low – a combination of a few accent strips and the various neon beer signs in the interior. It’s quiet and easy on the eyes – I liked it.
I opted for the patty melt on the menu with a side of fries. Both were alright. The only thing I was a little bummed about was the bread – it was advertised as rye, but ended up being white bread. Still, it was greasy and delicious.
Of further note is the eclectic patio area around the side of the building. There’s a variety of seating, including a few picnic tables, individual chairs, and even benches of the size children would likely use. It looks like a nice place to hang out during the warmer months.
This is well away from home for me, so I probably won’t be back. If you’re in the area and need a quiet place to crash and enjoy a greasy bar meal, this might be for you. Thanks, Probstei.
The menu has a nice mix of sandwiches, including fresh (not frozen) burgers, grilled chicken, tenderloins ( grilled and deep fried), BLT, chicken tenders, fish sandwich, and more. They also serve chicken wings, the usual fries and onion rings, and they have home made pasta salads and Cole slaw. Prices are in the $6.00 to $8.00 range, and include fries/onion rings or two of the homemade sides.
I had the the jalepeno burger; a 1/3 lb burger (add a second meat patty for $2.50), topped with pepper-jack cheese, deep fried jalapenos, and a mildly spicy mayonnaise based sauce. It was a tasty sandwich, and my side of onion rings was large. My wife had the Portabella mushroom and Swiss cheese burger along with two pasta sides. One of her pasta sides was a buffalo-chicken, and it had a nice heat/spice. The burgers are 1/3 lb, and end up a little thin after cooking, but they make a tasty sandwich.
We thought our meals were well worth the reasonable price, the atmosphere nice, and the cook and bartender were friendly. We will definitely return.
