Perfect mom and pop bbq restaurant. Family owned since 1925 . We got to meet the son and his son. Food was great! Perfect amount of bounce in the brisket and taste. Sausage was just as great. If you’re in town you definitely need to stop by. Restaurant is carry out . Buy local eat local protect local.

Damn fine Texas bbq served in a take-out only format. Cool ambiance as this is a really old building and the very old school brick smokers are on the side of the building. My wife and I both enjoyed the 2 meat plates. The highlights were the smoked ham, brisket and especially the beans. I’m not sure how they do it, but the meats are served very warm. I’m used to eating brisket and other smoked meats that are just slightly above room temperature. If you’re in Amarillo and you like BBQ, Prine’s is a great place to explore.

This isn’t a sit down kind of BBQ joint, but for a quick lunch it’s very good. They have their own style when it comes to the sauce and potato salad – both are good. And the brisket and ribs were also fairly decent. The chopped sandwich will keep me coming though – it’s easily the best thing on the menu.

One of the oldest BBQ establishments in the country and they know what they’re doing! Cooked in very well seasoned pits over indirect oak wood fires. The sauce is thin and unique and the sides are a must have!

This is likely the worst BBQ I have had in the 21st century. Prine’s used to serve outstanding BBQ. Not anymore. First and foremost, you have to order from your car. You find that out when you walk up to the front door where the menu is posted. Unless you are graced with clairvoyance you will need to order from the front door. In the heat. Or the cold, take your pick. Lazy and poor customer service. The meat lacks flavor and the ribs we ordered came with a chunk that was inedible. That I paid for. The sauce was watery and cold. Now let’s talk about the beans, potato salad, and cole slaw. You know, the normal sides one gets with a family pack. Well, there are none. Bottom line is that if I had to choose between this BBQ and no BBQ at all, I would choose the latter. It is that bad.

Went in on a Monday to order some food for a celebration of life on Wednesday. We got brisket, ham sausage, beans, potato salad, coleslaw and banana pudding. Everything was delicious! We got everything we needed there! Everyone was so nice and helpful. I have lived here most of my life and have eaten their barbecue many times and I have never had a bad meal there. So, if you have lived here a long time or are new to this area, go to Prines! The chain barbecue places have nothing on them!!

This is my favorite BBQ place. The sauce they have is out of this world! I don’t like thick sauce that over powers the meat and theirs is perfect! The pimento cheese is way better than anything you can find at the grocery stores! Anytime anyone asks where to go for BBQ I tell them about Prines. I just wish I knew how to duplicate that sauce!! LOL!

Great local business, rather spend 15$ for a big sandwich and a side here that 15$ for McDonald’s

Stopped by the visitor’s center to explore and the guys there recommended this place when I asked them where to get some good BBQ.
Totally nondescript plain-looking facade that makes you think maybe you have the wrong place or address…but once inside, the smells overwhelm the senses and you know you have discovered BBQ Utopia.
I grabbed a sandwich to go and was in bliss as I ate the delicious brisket, driving through the endless plains.
This place rocks!!!
