John Brown Coffee is one of our favorite shops in the Baltimore area. It’s especially nice in the fall and spring to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Parking can be tricky on the weekends and there’s usually a line but that shows popular it is! There’s no indoor seating, you just walk up to the window to order. On weekends there is usually a small farmers market across the street!

Best Iced Americano in the country. Period. They put out some really great pastries as well. Also amazingly friendly service and people who work here. Always brings a smile. I look forward to visiting here every day to say hi to the staff and to enjoy the wonderful coffee. Damn fine cup of coffee indeed.

Great little coffee shop! Small, tough parking lot on a Saturday morning when it’s always busy. Loved the coffee, and pretty good baked goods also!

Wow, this coffee is everything I’ve been searching for! It’s the perfect blend of smoothness and richness, with just the right amount of depth to make each cup feel indulgent. The aroma alone is enough to get you excited—it’s warm, inviting, and absolutely heavenly. As for the taste and selection, this place has something for everyone, making it perfect for both mornings and afternoon pick-me-ups.

The texture of the coffee is wonderfully velvety, and the coffee has a clean finish with no bitterness lingering behind. Whether you’re brewing as a drip coffee, pour-over, or espresso, the results are consistently excellent. It’s definitely one of the top places for both coffee and a little sweet if you’re interested in that too!

I can’t recommend this enough—it’s the kind of coffee that makes you look forward to your next cup. Perfect for coffee lovers who enjoy quality without compromise!

Ive been stopping here on and off for many years. Girls here are super friendly and upbeat. Coffee is very good and they have special blends of various latte. Sometimes they will have baked goods like cookies or muffins that are amazing.

First of all the location is beautiful, really lovely place to enjoy a nice day outside and also grab a great coffee or pastry. I appreciated the excellent service they explained all the pastry options (there were a lot!) and also recommended what the crowd favorite is for coffee. I ended up with a brown sugar maple latte with cinnamon and oat milk. Also tried the cookies and cream cupcake and a cinnamon sugar pastry (can’t remember the name but it was delicious). Definitely recommended!

I’ve been coming to John Browns for close to 5 years now as the best destination for my Sunday drives. From the old crew of Liam and Sofia, to the new faces behind the counter, there has always been a smile asking me “what’re you up to today?” along side some of the best coffee I have ever had. Different from any other coffee place, even the other local options, the atmosphere and camaraderie at this shop keeps me coming back, time and time again. While the pastries have made the lines longer, the cars have become the new focus of this establishment for me. This shop would not be the same without them. John Browns is not just a damn fine cup of coffee. It has been the meeting point for years, the place new friends are made, old ones reunited, and the place I saw my boyfriend for the very first time. JB’s has a special place in my life and I hope that never changes.

Very cute coffee shop. Roadside so not much seating but there is one large table in front. Coffee is roasted by Vigilante roasters.

Tasting Notes: Oat Milk Cortado
First taste was a strong burnt flavor but it mellowed as I drank the cortado. Definitely a dark roast. Much darker than I prefer for espresso drinks such as cortados. Hints of dark chocolate and burnt cherries.

Was very excited to try this place from reviews. Drove 35+ mins from Baltimore City for it. Specifically ordered a shaken espresso with oat milk (I am lactose intolerant). My drink along with two others came out. I knew by the look of my drink it was NOT right, I double checked with the cashier who looked very unsure and then she assured me that this was my drink – when a woman who walked off with the drink I am now sure is mine. Instead of offering to remake, she lied and told me the drink was mine. I had an almost immediate reaction and ran home sick due to the lactose intolerant the milk. Absolutely disappointing service, ESPECIALLY for the high price tag. Will not be returning. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Wildly overpriced, coffee was not good regardless of the allergy I had, and service was very poor.
