Food
We had the breakfast tortas. They were so good. The bread was fluffy and the eggs and meats were flavorful.
Atmosphere
Pretty barebones, but it doesn’t need frills. It was nice to sit outside and eat.
Recommend?
Yes, I’d go back to try other menu items.
I like that their carnitas are well-seasoned and crispy whether packaged in their ultra-greasy burritos or their tacos. Speaking of the “Carnitas Taco,” I can’t say I dislike it, even if I am slightly put-off by it being drizzled with a glowing-green avocado sauce that resembles radioactive waste. Seriously, the first time I saw that the avocado sauce looked like it had the consistency, shape, and color of neon green toothpaste, I was justifiably concerned that it was going to overwhelm in an awful way, but it actually is a bit light, airy, and not unpleasant.
Breakfast burritos are alright, with scrambled eggs, cheese, decent skillet potatoes, and a meat of your choosing. I’d go with the carne asada one, ask for some pico de gallo and salsa roja (in the burrito itself), and pray the guy putting it together didn’t pile each ingredient into separate areas of the burrito, which is known to happen. Again, keep expectations low.
Came here on a Wednesday, it is widely advertised that they have “happy hour all day Wed”, they even have menu and signs on the table (attached photo); drove all the way here, and was first told that they do not have the ingredients for the “margarita”, nor their “paloma” (which are their HH items). Then when asked for their “beers”, they said they “have to” charge me the regular price because “technically” they do not or will not honor their “happy hour” deals.
What the heck is this!? “Technically” since you have it on menu (inside the restaurant, on the tables), and you advertised it as such, you “have to” honor it. If you are not, at least, go gather up all the happy hour menus, and hide them!
Anyways, the food is not too bad, but it is a big turn off for this operation that “bait & switch”.
I guess there is a reason why this establishment has only 3-ish stars….. I should have known better not to come, in the first place!
