Still a good place for comfort food amd desserts. Daily specials. Worth checking out for sit down dinner/lunches. Gets busy during the lunch hours, just be patient and enjoy.

We stopped in Primos after it was suggested on Mississippi Eats! Restaurants, Recipes, Cookbooks & More on Facebook & it was a good recommendation.
The outside is as misleading as the inside is impressive. The inside reminds of the old large Cafe’s you would find in the downtown area of many cities. As a first time patron, I didn’t care for ordering at the counter with all the items on the menu, but the lady taking our order was really friendly & helpful. Food wise my Seafood Gumbo was OK, but didn’t really have a seafood taste though it did have enough heat to be noticeable, which was a good thing. The cornbread muffin was good too. My better half got that Catfish Blueplate with mac-n-cheese and greens with all of it being good. We didn’t order desserts but we did check out the pastry display and everything in the cabinet looked great. All in all, it was an enjoyable meal at a fair value which will have us going back again.

We recently visited Primos for brunch and had mixed feelings about the experience. The ordering process requires customers to walk up to a counter, which can become inefficient when lines are long. Fortunately, the restaurant was not busy during our visit.
For our meal, we ordered pancakes, eggs, sausage, an egg and cheese wrap with cheese grits, two sodas, and coffee. While some items were well-prepared, others fell short. The eggs and egg wrap were cooked to order and tasted great, but the pancakes lacked the homemade quality and seemed more like a premade variety. Additionally, the syrup and butter were prepackaged, which would have been more enjoyable if served warm and fresh. The sausage was dry and lacked the expected savory depth—using locally sourced or homemade sausage, readily available in Mississippi, could greatly enhance the dish.
Service at Primos is largely self-serve, including refilling drinks. While this setup may streamline operations, it limits opportunities for personalized service, which could impact tipping potential. On a positive note, the restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and staff members promptly cleared empty dishes.
This was our first visit, and unless improvements are made, it may be our last. While the restaurant shows promise, adjustments in food quality and service could significantly elevate the dining experience.

Oh my gosh this was good! So glad we stopped. The restaurant was busy for a weekday lunch, and it’s easy to see why.

I wish I could give zero stars for customer service and food quality. The customer service is poor because the front counter workers was not attentive to the orders that were made and gave I hate my job vibes. I was asked Do I need anything. My response was that I needed a menu. Instead of the worker giving me a menu, she pointed were the menu was. The menu was under a customer’s food. Finally, I placed my order. After 10-15 minutes passed, I noticed that customers were walking in and getting their order placed and given before me. I asked the worker could she check on my food because I notice other customers were getting their food before me. She walks over to the counter and hand the kitchen workers my ticket. That spoke volumes to me because, I was just going to be waiting on a order that was never placed. My bacon.was burnt and eggs were very watery. Those workers need to be in the far back working or in the parking lot picking up trash.

Been open for many years. Food was good tasting and plentiful portions. Staff was friendly. A good mix of southern fair and cajun influences on the menu. Diner feel with self-ordering process. Worth a visit if local or traveling through the area.

It was a clean place, we had to queue to order and get a number. Your order will be brought to your table once it is ready. Tge wait time for the food was less than 7 minutes. We ordered the fried sandwich, old-fashioned burger, and tumbleweed burger. The fries were delicious, nicely seasoned with salt and pepper. I had one of the most delicious, moist, and perfectly seasoned chicken here. The service was excellent, too. If you ever find yourself in Jackson Mississippi, Primo is a 7minutes drive from the international Airport, it is a must try.
