During the end of the night, the server we had was friendly and helpful. One spot of the floor was sticky, something had just spilled and they tried their best to clean it up. The food was delicious. We ordered honey BBQ wings, a sausage, a pepperoni, and a plain pizza (slice of each) and a pastrami and cheese sandwich with extra coleslaw. We ate every bite. Consistently good in food and service.

When in the Pittsburgh area, Primanti Bros. is a place that is well known for sandwiches. I had the original Rueben. I ordered a side of sliced pickles and coleslaw. The coleslaw had a horseradish taste to it which threw me off and i didn’tcare for it by itself. Coleslaw is usually sweet. I like horseradish, so I made the best of it and put the coleslaw on the sandwich which was really good. Give Primanti Bros. a try when in the area. There is also a Primanti Bros. in downtown Pittsburgh which is the one to visit. I believe it is the original one but not completely sure.

Waitress was friendly and attentive. Service was quick and the food was good. Chicken sandwich was pretty good especially the sauce. Servings were plentiful and the drink did not disappoint (especially half price happy hours)

First it took 45 minutes to get our food. I ordered a Bacon add egg and a slice of pizza. First piece they brought out was ice cold. The sandwich was a giant mound of slaw with what looked like bacon bits and pieces of fries. They also did not bring out the side of slaw and pickles my wife ordered and my daughter’s dressing.

I sent the items back and the second piece was not much warmer and somewhat soggy. At that point I figured it’s $2 chalk it up as a loss. The sandwich was slightly better at least the pieces of bacon were whole and not crumbled.

The waitress was pretty much non existent as who I’m guessing was the manager brought our food out and had them remake mine. He was the lone bright spot on this visit. I felt bad for him as I’m sure most of the other tables were having the same experience.

I’ve never had this kind of experience at any of the other locations.

I used live in Pittsburgh and Primanti Bros. was a must stop. My favorite is the Colossal Fish, batter-dipped and deep-fried to crispy crunchy perfection. I went classic with the tomato, coleslaw, and fries on top of the fried fish plank on sliced Italian bread. My friend also went with the Colossal fish but went completely deconstructed. My husband went with the oven-baked Italian Crostini. He was raving about it all weekend. This location used to be the Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge back in 1932. There is some historical memorabilia in the restaurant.

Good food pretty consistently. But good luck trying to pick up anything. 9 out of 10 times i come to this location there is no one at the front counter to greet anybody. it’s not uncommon to way 5-10mins+ before you even see a staff member up front.

Primantis is a Pittsburgh staple and I love that they’ve expanded into the suburbs so you can get the famous sandwich without going deep into the city.

I’ve been eating the popular sandwich for years and stopped by to have one when I was in town recently. It happened to me a day when they have a pizza special so we took advantage of that too. It’s a great deal—something like a 3 topping pizza, salad, and a drink for $20 on Tuesdays.

I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and high quality. The crust was yummy. The sauce needs a little bit of work because it just tastes like tomato paste. It’s not enough to make me not want to eat it but it could use a little flavor.

The service was extremely slow at lunchtime. We were sitting around waiting to order, to pay, etc, and we had two little kids with us so that was frustrating as they can only sit still for so long. There was hardly anyone else in the restaurant as it was lunch on a Tuesday so that made it frustrating because it’s not like anyone else was being waited on.

Overall, this is a great place to visit, especially when there is a game on because the atmosphere is rowdy and super fun! Highly recommend trying this Pittsburgh famous spot when you are in the area.

Went in to place a to go order at 3pm. Had the food in my hand at 3:05pm. Was it great fast service? I don’t think so. The Pittsburger and side of fries with cheese was beyond cold. The cheese sauce was already congealed. I’m guessing the food was left under a heat lamp after the lunch rush. Just guessing. It took 11 emails with Craig to resolve this issue. He offered to compensate me for my ruined meal and an additional meal. I received a $20 gift card in the mail. That was it. He decided to put a $20 credit on my Fanfare account after contacting him again.
After 11 emails and 1 count of deception, it was finally over.
I will spend my gift card and Fanfare credit at Primantis. Just not this one.

Nachos are awful, no more bologna, the wings aren’t the same, the pizza is awful, the other sandwiches aren’t great either. Wait staff and bartenders are great, everything going on in the kitchen is awful. The sandwiches are assembled poorly and lopsided, they put maybe 1/4-1/2 teaspoon of thousand island on their Reuben’s, it’s just such a great disappointment and has been consistently bad amongst all locations. This just isn’t at all what it used to be or somewhere yinzers can go for a decent meal.

I’ll be honest with you. Before coming to Pittsburgh I asked for some food recommendations. Primanti’s was everyone’s first suggestion. I had it once in Indianapolis, albeit I was hung over, I found it dry and pretty bland. Fast forward, we’re in Pittsburgh, the birthplace of this sandwich. I figured why not end my food tour with this infamous sandwich joint. Well… I’m glad I did. A local shared with me his normal order and I got exactly that, their hot cappi with cheese and added a fried egg. This was fantastic. The French bread was super soft. The slaw was moist. The fries? Not overpowering. The fried egg changed everything. It ate so easy and I kept going back for more until it was gone. I’m sorry for knocking this sandwich. It is good and worth trying out! Add a fried egg! Service was perfect. Every TV had the Pirates game on with game sound. Definitely recommend.
