UPDATE 2: Decided to give them another shot after our last poor experience here. Oddly enough, we used the credit they gave us for how bad our last order was so I’m not even mad about being out money. I’m mad because they gave us a raw buffalo chicken sandwich. We enjoy Primanti’s, but I don’t think we’ll be ordering from this location again. It just isn’t good.

UPDATE: I just want to update my below review.
The management at this location reached out to me within 24 hours of leaving this and refunded my order. Not only that, but Michael was sincerely interested in specific feedback about the pizza and finding ways they can improve going forward. Customer service like this is why I will continue to go back to Primanti’s even after a bad experience. Kudos to Michael and to Primanti’s for taking ownership of a mistake and striving to be better next time. You don’t see a lot of that anymore. Thank you!

The pizza at this location is awful. I’ve had Primanti’s pizza at multiple other locations around Pittsburgh and have always thought their pizza is great. I’m not sure how true this is, but I’ve heard that not all locations have a pizza oven. I’m not sure what they’re doing at this location with the pizza, but it was inedible. The cheese was waxy, hard, and extremely greasy and burnt. The sauce was dried up and tasted awful.

We got the family meal deal tonight and had to throw the entire pizza out. My kids hated it. My wife and I both tried it and it was absolutely terrible. The sandwiches, tenders, and giant Bavarian pretzel we got were great tho. The pizza is my only complaint. Something needs to be done to improve it at this specific location. It’s really bad.

People have got to stop glazing this place up.
It’s a chain and it Makes most of its money off of it’s booze. They do not care about the Food quality despite the nice presentation.

I am a mozzarella stick connoisseur, and these were hard and hardly had any sort of cheese pull. From my Cheese Stick Ranking Chart:

“ Primanti Bros- 3/10 oooh c’mon I was expecting SOMETHING from this place!!
Overcooked and they stuck together on the plate.
The food was awful, no cheese pull… the ranch was bottled ranch. Big NO!”

I’m not sure if it was the fault of this specific meal but the next day I felt incredibly sick and had sweats!

Primanti Bros. is a true Pittsburgh staple. Great beer selection, classic sandwiches, and that unmistakable Steel City vibe. Always hits the spot—locals know, visitors learn fast.

Food was excellent. Huge choice of sandwiches with great ingredients.
Unfortunately, we had to wait an unusual amount of time for a burger. Everyone else’s food was on time. Then, when the burger arrived it was incorrect.
The hostess was disinterested in giving guests a good experience and the music was VERU loud.

Good atmosphere. The Primantis branding is alive and well with a character mural of local notables. Chodsky’s of Pittsburgh history, landmarks are everywhere to be seen. Good sized medium Bar appx. 20 seats to be seen at the bar. The front of the place opens up with a garage front, but the privacy curtain is nice & keeps the glare off the big screens with the local games on. Tall tables encircle the bar area, where’as booths line the main walkway in towards the kitchen. Good prices for domestic beers & specials. Decent Draft selection featuring some season brews. Happy hour specials are in effect as well. Food was quick, hot and accurate. As with any Primantis, the portions are exceptional. I got some takeout and the box for the sandwich was smaller than the fries. I thought that should be switched out, size wise but the design was cool. Gotta make due with the branding/design. Not a bad spot for a strip mall bar/restaurant. Some games of chance up front if you want to try your luck.

The service here has been good, at best, each time we’ve come. It doesn’t seem to matter what time of day it is. Two of us enjoyed their SPECIAL which included an “appetizer”, sandwich, and an add-on beer special for $2.50. My appetizer choice was a piece of plain pizza, which I was planning to share. It was very small. (I still cut it into 3pieces and shared) My mother-in-law thoroughly enjoyed the wings and shared. The $2.50 beer was huge. The server was invisible.

There have been multiple times I went here and stood at the front waiting area for almost 10 minutes waiting for someone to greet our family. My most recent visit was not great either. The beer was hardly cold and most of the food wasn’t cooked right. cold wings, hardly any cheese on the “cheese fries”, and the pizza had hard chunks of dried dough on the bottom of it. It looked horrible and tasted horrible. This location needs better oversight of its employees and food. My server was great.

I used to love coming here for the Spicy Blackbean sandwich, they recently got rid of it and now the only vegetarian options are cheese or egg. Hate to see these places going out but now we don’t visit because of removing this sandwich, please bring back the spicy blackbean burger!

Although I’ve never had a ‘bad’ experience at Primanti’s in Monaca, tonight was exceptionally good! The service was fast & friendly & the food was outstanding! We both had a Capone and shared a Reuben fry. Best. Sammiches. Ever!

Always a decent sandwich. Did call to order and was told the kitchen was closed but when I ordered through app, I had no problem. When I called after to confirm, they said they “stop taking phone orders” earlier than the app. Strange but either way, got my food so can’t complain.
