The hai yai chicken was interesting like they use a Cornish hen. The corn cob fritter was also very tasty.
I hate having to pay on the side for jasmine rice. It would be nice to price it into the entrees.
The eggplant basil which was the simplist dish was quite nice with a lot of wokhei.
The beef curry was nice. The fish wrapped in a banana leaf was probably the best thing we ordered.
All in all I might come back here.
Scallop is good with complex flavor. But overpriced. I mean almost $18 with tax for 2 scallops?
Also ordered the beef jerky. Pretty good, dry but good.
Wouldn’t recommend. Too small portion and only 10 tables in a small room. I was afraid to go to the bathroom because the hallway was so tiny and hard to pass.
Lemongrass scallops — a tasty bite. I would have enjoyed more heat.
Roasted cabbage/veg — good if you like plain veg, but… very plain. Dry kubocha squash + broccoli rabe made a nice bite but could have used some seasoning.
Aromatic “dry spice” curry — def a step up from your average Thai curry. Very tasty, but more sweet than spicy. I would have enjoyed more heat here too.
Clams with chili jam — good clams and plenty of them, but I didn’t quite get the chili jam… Still, very tasty once I applied plenty of the hot pepper/fish sauce.
Overall, worthwhile and I’d go back, but I’d encourage them to add use more heat — and my partner would have liked more protein options as well.
The scallops are a must! The beef curry and shrimp stir fry were also great. Portions are on the smaller side so you can try a number of plates. The Thai tea was a nice pairing as well (they kindly adjusted the sweetness level!). We will definitely be back for a causal dinner.
HIGHLY recommend the Brussels Sprouts, Grilled Beef Curry, Squid with Salted Egg Sauce and Eggplant with Basil dishes. Seasoned to perfection, absolutely delicious.
Some of the other dishes left a little to be desired but overall an enjoyable meal with good service and nice indoor atmosphere (dope art to boot).
Wine selection was good. We went with some orange wine (Bheeyo) and that didn’t disappoint. Nice compliment to a pleasant meal.
