Maddie and Grace were kind and polite. The food was horrible. The nachos were cold, the cheese was in clumps because it wasn’t even hot when prepared on the plate. The jalepenos on the nachos looked as if someone chewed them up first before putting them on the plate. Would not ever recommend going here unless you’re just lonely and needing a kind person to talk to because the stage certainly was kind.

Edit: spoke to the manager after trying it and tasting how bland it was, and he was absolutely the nicest guy. He said that there should be more than that, 10oz, which this was not, and that he’ll make sure the batter is seasoned better. Took this off the bill, which I greatly appreciated. The service and atmosphere here is great, and I tried some of my wife’s BBQ chicken flatbread, and it was really good, I just cannot recommend the fish. May have to come back and try something else.

I absolutely can’t give any more stars than this, regardless of how good it may be. Unfortunately, it was also bland as all get out. Oh my gosh, they’re so bad too!! This is absolutely pitiful for **$22**!!

I honestly couldn’t believe this was it. Two, TINY fish… Sticks? I can’t even call them filets, because they’re not big enough to warrant the name.

I felt bad for the waitress because I asked her if this was a typical serving size, and she said confirmed that this was it, and seemed embarrassed that she had to tell me that this was it. I felt bad for her because it’s obviously not her fault, but this is unacceptable.

Let me say it again:

Two fish sticks and fries for $22!! This would’ve been an overpayment, but more palatable at $12 or about that, but this for TWENTY TWO DOLLARS is absolutely pathetic.

Don’t eat here. Not worth. Even a regular burger is $20. There are way better places in the area that cost a fraction of this place.

The bacon jam burger was amazing, one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Every part of the burger was in perfect flavor balance, nothing over powering. The patties themselves were perfectly cooked and very juicy. The french fries are a great compliment too. We also had the fish and chips, which were ok. The fish was good real fish, it just didn’t have a lot of flavor and the beer batter (which actually seemed more like breading) was a little one note. It certainly was edible, just not memorable. We got some beer flights and tried 8 of the 9 beers on tap, all were good. The service was a little lacking. At first the server was prompt but after putting in our drink order and asking for a couple of minutes to keep deciding, 20 minutes (I promise I’m not exaggerating) went by before we got our server back. I even went up to the bar and let them know we were ready to order. Overall good, I’d go back to try other things that also sounded very appetizing. Cool vibe too.

Hey Everyone,
This time we had a party of 8! We decided to eat outside even though it was toasty outside! That didn’t stop us from having good conversation, catching up and enjoying our delicious food when we got it. We had Pamala tonight to take all of our orders and I must say she has great customer service for all the meals she brought out for us to eat! We had plenty of napkins, water to drink and everything went smooth. I made sure I took pictures of their menu so you would know exactly what meal you wanted to eat once you arrive! If you’re just visiting the area this is also a brewery where you can try different tastes of beer they brew too! The atmosphere was very laid back to relax feel and not hustle and bustle. The ketchup is different from other restaurants because theirs has a smokey flavor to it. Didn’t get a chance to order dessert though but maybe next time?

Service is a joke here and always has been.
Cool atmosphere, I haven’t tried the new food and I won’t because the service sucks.
We met, who I believe is the new operator, last Sunday and she was so rude. She forgot about us multiple times even though there was 4 people there. It’s like she was actively trying to run us off. Mission accomplished, I will never go back and I recommend you don’t either.
Considering the service, the new operator will meet the same fate as the previous one and this place will likely be empty soon.

Quite possible it wasn’t the new operator, either way I’ve seen the lady there before and she’s always rude.
I-love-the owners -AI -replies. Read the other – owner-replies. Know how you – can tell it’s -AI?
Equal effort to replies and service. Lazy.
Edit: The owner went back and edited all the other responses to remove most of the —.

When searching for a restaurant to celebrate my birthday and satisfy everyone’s needs I came across The Presshouse. Some of the reviews were mixed, but chose to give it a try. We had a wonderful experience. The service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious and resonably priced. I was a little worried for our server because there was 8 of us and lots of special requests, but she nailed it. There were no complaints. We did go on a Sunday night so it was not crowded which was perfect because we had an 9 and 6 year old with us, who can get a little loud. We had appetizers and some burgers and entrees. The street corn dip was so good I would have loved the recipe. The fried cheese curds were super yummy. Our burgers were cooked and seasoned perfectly. My husband ordered the butcher cut steak and he said it was the tastiest steak he has had in awhile. We definitly will be back.

We had an incredible experience at PressHouse with the whole family. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. My son ordered the PressHouse cheeseburger with fries and didn’t leave a single bite, he said it was cooked to perfection. My wife and I shared a Caesar salad and the 8oz filet, and both dishes were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The steak was perfectly cooked, and the Brussels sprouts were spot-on. After dinner, we relaxed on the patio and enjoyed the live music and entertainment provided by the restaurant. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. We’ll absolutely be returning!

Service was well balanced: attentive and helpful (great recommendations, thanks) without coming by too frequently even though the restaurant wasn’t busy while we were there. Place has a good vibe. Beer menu is smaller than I remember but custom flights are available which we enjoyed. Menu includes many easy bar foods like fried things, burgers and flatbread. I ordered a salad which was not well balanced: too little greens, too much dressing, candied walnuts too hard, cranberries all stuck together in a clump. Also had soft pretzels with cheese: pretzels were ok, cheese sauce was broken and not as flavorful as I remember.

Visited on a Friday early evening hours to check this place out for the brews. Had a flight to try the Bitter Truth, Eddie’s Ale, SIUE Cougars Red Ale, and the Printers Ink Ale. The Printers Ink Ale was the best followed by Bitter Truth. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have any OH Joy Stout left as that was the reason I came to this brewery. Service at the bar was really good. I didn’t try and food but it appears there are limited veg options. This place is rather spacious and has good vibes. I would visit again if I wad in the area.

Let me begin with – I loved Old Herald and I am rooting for the Press House. The reason I’m writing this review is because I want the owners to know about these issues so they can do something about these issues.
I have been there twice in the last two days. I was there on a Saturday night and Sunday. We waited probably 7 minutes to be seated on Saturday and 10 minutes on Sunday (Gave up and went elsewhere) On both occasions we waited to be seated while waitresses walked past us at the door. When we finally were seated, we waited another 20 minutes for someone to come and get our drink order. I ended up going to the bar to attempt to order. The bartender told me he’d be over. He’s was working the bar, bringing out food, and seating people. No one came over. I saw the owner bussing tables, so I mentioned something to him. We finally got his wife to wait on us. I have to say that I really enjoyed the food. I’d love to see this restaurant be on a rescue show so they could get some help and improve their service. I think it could make or break this establishment.
