Wow, what a place. So glad they open this new restaurant in the area. These are by far the best Italian sandwiches in San Diego.
Their original ingredients, attention to detail on each sandwich and their special ‘schiacciata’ bread are beyond amazing.
Highly recommended. We’ll be back many times and again for these special sandwiches.

My Italian friend swears by these mouthwatering sandwiches so obviously I had to go try them. The newly opened Prendi E Vai located in Little Italy is a true gem. What makes their sandwiches stand out is the fresh baked schiacciata bread that’s crispy yet soft and airy on the inside. They only use high quality Italian meats, fresh cheeses, along with homemade spreads.

Their menu has 13 schiacciata sandwiches with different meats like mortadella, prosciutto, porchetta and salami. Plus my favorite sandwiches have their creamy truffle cream and homemade pesto. If Italian sandwiches are not your thing, they also have regular sub sandwiches too.

Truffle parma: Prosciutto di Parma, burrata, sun-dried tomato, arugula, truffle cream
Guava cotto: Prosciutto Cotto, goat cheese, guava spread, arugula, EVOO
Di Carlo: Pesto di pistachio, mortadella di pistachio, stracciatella, crushed pistachio

I was excited to try this new spot in the neighborhood and was not disappointed! I got the Dolce & Salato sandwich. It was delicious. One of the best sandwiches I have had in a long time. The bread was baked fresh. It took some time but they told me it would be made fresh. They even brought out a nice sample when the bread was done. There was SO much prosciutto I had to even take some off, I saved the other half for another day, great deal.

We were walking around the Italian neighborhood in San Diego, looking for a good place to eat, and suddenly stumbled upon this place. We saw the sandwiches and decided to try them. The sandwiches turned out to be very tasty, large, and truly Italian. I highly recommend visiting this spot. If you haven’t tried these sandwiches yet, definitely stop by and give them a try if you’re in San Diego or live here. The prices are average, just like everywhere else.

This place transported me to Florence! Their sandwiches with pistachio pesto are so tasty and reminded me of those I tried in Italy this summer. We tried the Caprese and Di Carlo Schiacciata sandwiches, both were amazing! Fresh, crispy bread that’s soft enough to bite into. Huge portions, generous fillings with ingredients that felt fresh.

They’ve got many sandwich options I still need to try, plus coffee and pastries that looked tasty too. They also have a fridge full of grab and go snacks. Plus, plenty of comfy seating inside.

It took me a bit to figure out what they sold, so if they could do more marketing or post some sandwich pics or have a menu outside, that’d be awesome! Glad we walked in!

Prendi E Vai has recently opened in Little Italy in the old Starbucks location, and let me tell you, it’s a great addition to the community of Little Italy, San Diego and beyond.

I really like places like this: a blend of many. It’s a coffee shop, baker, and sandwich shop. It’s a take and go concept, but also a sit down cafe where you can sit down to enjoy a meal and a nice conversation. They gave a lot to offer, including great espresso based beverages, breakfast items, freshly baked pizzas, and amazing schiacciata which is similar to a focaccia bread, but a little softer inside and a great crisp exterior with a touch of salt. You can get a warm schiacciata sandwich made to order.

I had a cortado and a breakfast sandwich on ciabatta with porchetta and egg. The sandwich was delicious. I loved the crunchy nature of the bread. The sandwich came with a house made pistachio pesto, which was delicious, thinly sliced savory porchetta, and a medium fried egg. It was simple and delicious. I would order it again.

The cortado was very smooth and rich. Customer service was super friendly and welcoming. They offer very good inside seating a few tables right out in front.

If you are visiting Little Italy, I would definitely check out Prendi E Vai.

I recently visited this place for breakfast and tried their delicious egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich. It was served on a toasted jalapeño cheddar bagel and cost only eight dollars. The eggs were fluffy and slightly runny, while the bacon was crispy but not burnt. The bagel was absolutely to die for.

The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s worth noting that this place is owned by the same company as Grab n’ Go, but it has a distinct feminine touch. The wallpapers are lovely, the ambiance is great, and the energy is excellent.

What sets this place apart from the old Starbucks at this location is that they make their sandwiches from scratch, unlike the microwave-ready options. I’ll definitely be back to try out other items on their menu.

Highly recommend this place for breakfast 🙂
