We didn’t get any this time but the drinks are also reasonably priced. Beer is $6, liquor is $6-8, and cocktails were no more than $14, most of them at $10 per cocktail. Will definitely try the drinks next time.
Nepalese isn’t our usual go-to cuisine but this place was on our radar for a while and we finally gave it a try. My only regret is not going sooner- this place is awesome! Service was friendly and attentive and the space is large enough to not be noisy. It was a great, peaceful meal at the restaurant with amazing food.
Even if you’re not a usual fan of Nepalese, Indian, or Tibetan food, there’s something for everyone. The tastes aren’t extreme and even for our milder palettes we were so impressed. Definitely recommend giving Pranam a try!
I loved the Nepali chiya, very aromatic with a pleasant ginger-y note. We were also very happy to find Nepali beer here- they have Nepal Ice and Ghorka. The fried chicken momos tossed in sauce were delicious- the filling was juicy and flavorful and the wrappers were thin and chewy.
It’s an awesome addition to Astoria!
I really like Indo-Chinese cuisine and this menu reflects these regions in interesting ways. Nepali fare really feels like a fusion between two of my favorite cuisines so it’s cool to identify the flavors in every dish.
There’s something for everyone on this menu but I highly suggest trying the BUTTER CHICKEN MAC N CHEESE. A dish I have never seen before and can’t figure out why! Their butter chicken sauce was so good and pairs with the pasta perfectly.
