Nestled in the heart of Mill Road Cambridge (for those not local, an iconic road full of buzz and atmosphere). Prana isn’t just another Indian restaurant—it’s a place where warmth, flavour, and personality come together in every dish. At the heart of it all is Kobir, the owner, whose genuine hospitality sets the tone for the entire experience. His passion for food and people are reflected not only in the vibrant menu but also in the friendly, attentive team that brings it all to life.

Two standout starters are the Samosa Chaat, a clever vegan twist on the street food favourite – tangy, spicy, and satisfyingly crunchy.
The second the Onion Bhaji, a fun tribute to tennis legend Andy Murray – it’s BIG, like a tennis ball (bigger actually!) packed with flavour and a fun dish to order.

The Naga was my main dish and a true standout, arrives sizzling on a hot plate. It’s very hot but not just for the sake of heat. The layers of flavour are deep and complex, making it a rewarding dish for spice lovers.

Prana’s menu offers a wide selection, from beloved traditional dishes to inventive new creations. Their use of technology-driven ovens, cooking at a precise 130 degrees, ensures every dish is slow-cooked to perfection, locking in flavour and tenderness.

Whether you’re a seasoned spice lover or new to Indian cuisine, Prana is a must-visit for a memorable experience.

I had a really lovely time with my friend at Prana. We are both vegan so tried the vegan options but we were definitely not missing out. There was so much choice and everyone was so friendly! The only thing I wish they had was a vegan mango lassi haha. If they ever make it, I’ll be there everyday . But yeah, everything was incredible!

Last week, we had an excellent early-evening dinner at Prana. The food and service are always good here, but what made it extra attractive was the weekday offer.

For £ 19.95 p.p., you can choose 1 starter, a main and a side. The offer runs from Sunday – Thursday from 5 to 7 pm.

Highly recommended. Make sure you make a booking.

Outstanding value and flavour

We tried the set menu where you can pick any starter and main from the full menu for £19.95, with a choice of rice or naan on the side. Such a great deal for what you get. Portions were genuinely generous, I actually brought some home with me, the flavours were excellent: bold, well-balanced, and clearly cooked with care.

Service was another strong point. The team was friendly, attentive, and kept an eye on our table without ever hovering. Courses were well-timed and everything arrived hot and fresh.

Overall, it’s fantastic value for money and a spot I’d happily return to for an easy, delicious meal.

Highly recommended.

Superb restaurant! My partner and I came on a Tuesday night and found it quiet enough to chat but plenty of other diners to bring a great atmosphere. Staff were well informed and really friendly, enjoyed chatting with them and the owner! Massively over ordered as we just couldn’t decide. Especially impressed at how well they labelled allergens & handled vegan requests. They even have a vegan naan option! Can’t wait to return.

Staff were excellent: friendly and helpful. Starters were good, but mains were all a uninteresting, lacking depth of flavour. Disappointing compared with my visit approx 4 years ago. Was over £200 for 4 of us incl drinks and tips. A bit pricey for what it was.

“The flavors seem a bit mild, and I feel like the tempering might be missing something, maybe ginger and garlic? Also, considering the price, I was expecting a bit more in terms of taste and quality.”
The table feels a bit unsteady, and it seems a little small for our group. Would it be possible to get a more stable or larger one?”
The staff here are really nice and courteous. They are very helpful and attentive.”
