Great food and great vibes. Shrimp salad and pad see ew were excellent. Beautifully designed space. It feels like a trendy Thai restaurant in New York (except not as cramped).

Absolutely incredible AUTHENTIC Thai food!

This place tastes exactly like home. Real, authentic Thai flavors with that special “mom-style cooking” that you can’t find anywhere else in the Bay.

I ordered the Gui Chai and they have BOTH versions, crispy and steamed. Both are amazing! The crispy one is perfectly golden and crunchy, and the steamed one is soft, chewy, and full of flavor. Truly hard to find real Gui Chai made like this.

The Nookie Karee Koog blew me away sweet-forward, fragrant, and so flavorful even after you finish the bite. Exactly how it tastes in Thailand.

And the Pad Thai OMG. The aroma reminded me of the street-style Pad Thai in Thailand cooked over charcoal. So nostalgic and authentic!

Everything here tastes like it was cooked with love, real ingredients, and true Thai technique.
One of the BEST Thai meals I’ve had in the US. Highly recommended

Such a nice ambiance, kind staff, and of course the food! Definitely need to get the Gui Chai (chive dumpling)! Loved the pumpkin curry and Dok Jok dessert was so beautiful and creative

The new owners have done an amazing job making this place their own. The menu is on the smaller side but that’s because they make everything fresh in house and you can taste the quality.

The atmosphere is a polished punk vibe that is clean and uncluttered with several nods to the Berkeley scene.

Yeah, this is definitely my new spot for Thai food.

Very beautifully decorated restaurant with a variety of authentic dishes that are hard to find outside of Thailand. A nice combination of traditional dishes like Pad Thai, Tom Yum Soup, and Papaya Salad, and more creative ones like Ribeye Green Curry and Stir Fried Mama Noodles with Beef.

Must order:
Homemade Gui Chai (10/10)
Plah Goong
Kao Phad Mun Puu
Mama Pad Kee Mao Beef
Emily’s Dumplings

I’m Thai and I’ve been living in the U.S. for 15 years, whenever a new Thai restaurant opens, I always go check it out
The whole atmosphere feels very Thai-Chinese style and instantly made me feel nostalgic. The music is chill and easy to listen to, and the vibe is like a relaxed bar where you can just sit, unwind, and hang out. It truly feels like a little piece of Chiang Mai away from home.
Definitely a spot worth visiting if you’re into that cozy, laid-back mood.
My favorite dish here is the Kao Pad Mun Puu crab fried rice topped with soft, creamy scrambled eggs, another is the Ka Ree Koong, stir-fried shrimp in curry powder with egg. It’s so creamy and perfectly balanced

Praaw Thai just opened recently and it’s already one of the best Thai spots around!
We had Nookie’s Ka Ree Koong (creamy egg curry shrimp), Mama Pad Kee Mao with beef, Yum Neur (beef salad), and Emily’s Dumpling — everything was flavorful and authentically Thai. The shrimp was juicy, the noodles perfectly spicy, and the dumpling tasted just like home in Thailand. Cozy vibe, friendly staff, and beautiful decor. Highly recommend! ✨
