I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Potbelly Sandwich Shop. I ordered a salad and was shocked when I opened the container to find brown, wilted lettuce — including chunks of the lettuce core mixed in. It was visibly old and completely unappetizing. No customer should be served produce that looks like it should have been thrown out hours (if not days) ago.
I politely asked if they could remake the salad with fresh lettuce. The response I received was even more disappointing than the food itself — I was told that what they served me “is what they had.” That’s unacceptable. If the ingredients are not fresh, they shouldn’t be served. Period.
To make matters worse, they still had the audacity to prompt for a tip at checkout. It’s incredibly frustrating to be asked to tip for food that is clearly subpar and service that is equally lacking. The staff did not appear happy to be there, and it showed in their facial expressions and tone. There was no sense of care, urgency, or basic customer service.
Between the poor food quality and the dismissive attitude, this was a terrible experience from start to finish. I will not be returning, and I would caution others to check their food carefully before leaving. Freshness and service matter — and this location failed on both.

Who cares about service? All these people complaining are the same type of people that give them a hard time on a daily basis. Good job on the staff. Anyways, the breakfast sandwich was amazing. It’s double the size of a sausage egg muffin and better, super hot and moist. Did I mention it’s only $9.30? Amazing sandwich on whole wheat. I’ll be back when I’m there again in a rush.

Venturing into Potbelly Sandwich Shop in Champaign, Illinois, for the first time transcended mere gastronomy; it was an immersive introduction. The precise year eludes recall, hovering somewhere between six and eight years prior, yet the recollection remains strikingly vivid. Opting for their Italian—a perennial favorite—proved to be revelatory, a meticulously orchestrated composition of superior meats, impeccably crisp produce, and nuanced spices that pirouetted across the palate. This confluence engendered a flavor signature so definitively Potbelly’s that it has lingered in my epicurean reveries ever since. The geographical scarcity of Potbelly’s establishments has imbued each subsequent visit with the gravitas of a pilgrimage. Upon entry, one is immediately swathed in an ambiance that is simultaneously reassuring and invigorating—a singular fusion of Southern cordiality, Chicagoan verve, and authentic Italian panache. The emblematic potbelly stove insignia, resplendent in the window and encircled by vintage photographs, serves as a temporal portal, transporting me back to that initial, indelible sandwich encounter, thereby setting the stage for another extraordinary indulgence. The personnel, while not excessively demonstrative, are commendably efficient and affable, adroitly assembling our takeaway order with noteworthy alacrity and exactitude. The zenith of the experience, however, was realized upon unwrapping the BBQ Mac & Cheese sandwich. Having sampled a plethora of iterations of these quintessential comfort foods from Iowa to Texas, Florida to California, this particular rendition occupied an echelon of its own. The inaugural bite unleashed an efflorescence of unctuous, opulent cheese—a virtuoso mélange of several varietals—harmoniously paired with exquisitely tender, lusciously sauced pork, immersed in a saccharine yet piquant BBQ reduction that resonated impeccably with the luxuriant macaroni and cheese. Consumed with unparalleled rapidity, each mouthful served as an eloquent attestation to the culinary acumen at play. For those uninitiated into the Potbelly’s oeuvre, I proffer this counsel: commence with either the Italian or the BBQ Mac & Cheese. Irrespective of your selection, ensure that you do not depart without sampling their in-house baked cookies. The chocolate brownie and s’mores variants are unequivocally divine—so singularly exceptional, in fact, that one might as well procure both. I extend my gratitude to Potbelly’s for consistently surpassing anticipations and for curating sandwiches that transcend mere sustenance, evolving into indelible experiences.

After looking around for something to eat in the morning, we found this place offers the best options. Affordable prices, and a pretty decent and good looking, also tasty sandwich. The guy who makes the sandwiches on the right side is also a nice chill dude. Definitely would choose it 10 out of 10, instead of the cold prepared burritos or whatnot in the supermarket next to it, for the same price.

I had issues setting the wrong catering order time frame online, but I believe the manager on shift was able to accommodate my order quickly! Super helpful and thank you to the team! Great customer service!

Had a great experience this trip through BOS. The turkey and Swiss was very good. It was as toasted to perfection! So much better than a subway, but what isn’t? Now I came through there last year and wanted a shake, only to find out they didn’t have any.

guys. for airport food this is insane value. why are the ratings so low. BTW pretty sure this is in terminal B (that’s where I got it as of dec 10), but incredibly reasonable prices for a hefty sandwich. $11.65 for a generous portion of protein and u get unlimited toppings????? and it moves super fast. and it’s always toasted. i am shocked that i got this at an airport.

this is just their original classic or whatever, with “the works”. yum!!!

This Potbelly is located right in the terminal B near gate 12. Full service sandwich restaurant with all different choices. I went with the Italian on white and hot peppers. Very delicious sandwich. They also offered different flavors of potato chips and various drinks.

I ordered the BLTA (original size sandwich) and there was the smallest piece of avocado on one end of the sandwich. It’s frustrating that on a sandwich that has only 4 ingredients on it, 1 ingredient was almost non-existent, especially when paying as much as it costs, for just the 1 sandwich. Otherwise, the sandwich was good….but it was essentially just a BLT. I’ve gotten this same sandwich, from another location, and it was covered, from end to end, with all ingredients, including avocado, so it was very disappointing to have so little, on the sandwich I got today.

At the Boston Logan Airport and needed breakfast after a long red-eye flight. Went with Potbelly due to it being cheaper than the joint across the way. I had the bacon cheese breakfast sandwich on wheat. Soooooo good. There is a little pepper on the bacon which just adds a little zing which is perfect.
