We went to Doug & Lil’s Potato Patch for breakfast and truly enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious and comforting, and the ambiance made us feel like we were eating at our grandma’s house—warm, cozy, and welcoming. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel right at home. A wonderful spot for a great breakfast and a nostalgic, feel-good experience. Highly recommended!

One of the best diner breakfasts I’ve ever had! The provolone omelet was expertly made, the home fries were flavorful and nice texture, the grits were great, and the muffin was good too! I also got coffee (which was refilled 3x ). My server was friendly and good at her job. The only small drawback of the whole meal was the price. After tip, I was out the door for $25, which seems crazy for one breakfast w/ coffee, even in 2025.

Edit: I went back and tried the country fried steak and it was excellent! Great restaurant!

They have cups and ice, but one cannot get a cup of water. They will however sell you a 16.9oz bottle of Zephyrhills water for $1.50.
The sausage gravy was seasoned just right and tasty, but the biscuit was soft and had no crisp on the outside. Seems to be a running theme in this area. The thin bacon was cooked to perfection with just the right combination of crispness and chewiness.

This longtime home style diner was recommended, and we did enjoy our first visit having eggs ham hash browns potato pancake grits and as suggested the biscuit was good also. Would have been five star, except the sausage gravy tasted very heavy on black pepper, like someone kicked over the jar by mistake and served it anyway. Kudos to the waitress for hearing the comment and saying she would mention that to the chef. We plan to visit again to try the corned beef hash.

Great mom and pop stop. They only take cash, so be forewarned. They actually cook eggs perfectly (basted light), and the flavors are very good. Outstanding breakfast!

First time visiting. Really cute place, staff was friendly on arrival, myself and a friend were seated for maybe 5 mins when the waitress came over and apologized for the (no) wait. The food came out 10-15mins later and looked so good and tasted even better! The eggs, sausage links, and homefries were delicious!

I was so excited to try this place, went with my husband on Valentines Day for breakfast waited on line about 15 mins to be served when we finally got to sit we had to wait another 10-15 mins to get our drinks by another waitress because the one that supposed to take care of us decided to served a whole family that came after us first, when another waitress give us our drink the one that was supposed to be our waitress went and take care of a second family that came after the other family, at first I didn’t thought about racism maybe she got confused I get it but now she did it twice ok Both of those families were white Americans and now I’m thinking about racism because what a coincidence the server was White American as well and my husband and I are Spanish, the experience was terrible I never felt like that in my life.
I didn’t wanted to think about racism but this places is racist I will never go back to that place terrible business.

Well I have to apologize for the picture…I couldn’t wait to taste this! Spinach omelet with a side of ..of course mashed potatoes & gravy. . This food is as close to growing the ingredients yourself harvesting it all and having your Grandma and all her friends from church cooking it up on Sunday afternoon for a picnic in the backyard . This is a serious sleeper, if you’re hungry don’t you dare drive by the Potato patch Restaurant!

This place is a GREAT little country diner! I’ve only ever had breakfast, so I cant speak to anything else, but if its half as good as the breakfast its great! Have been more than once with groups of 6-8, so there were a lot of different menu items ordered and they were all excellent!

Racist Diner to not go if you are hispanic.

I am a man of God, a man who does not like to share negative reviews or comments about any establishment. But the way, I was treated here is unacceptable, and I would not like anyone to have this experience with there love ones.

Today, I entered the location with my wife, we are a hispanic couple that resides in the Deland area. I have served the Volusia community for many years as a Law Enforcement officer. Today, I am a school Director for a school in the Kissimmee area where I encourage kids into being great human beings. We are people of good and just wanted to have a great experience this morning supporting a local breakfast diner. We are a very understandable couple, I come from a family who used to own a restaurant, so I understand being a busy day and, I understand being ignored. There is no possible way that it is a small restaurant, and I get there before the 2 tables around me, and they get service before me. I waited an estimated time of 25 minutes for my drinks. Which the server who kept saying to me I am coming did not bring. The lady at the front was courteous enough to bring us drinks.

I had many desires of making a bigger scene at the establishment. But I wanted to be respectful for the ones around me. I hope this messages reaches a person at this establishment and they can improve at this. If you have had prior bad experiences with a hispanic person in the past that does not give you the power to judge me. I promise, I am a person of good and a great tipper. We will keep praying for all because we have to be better. God Bless you all
