Went to restaurant for a third time after dissatisfaction from two years ago, it was still very disappointing. All three times food were overpriced, undervalued, and underserved.

I enjoyed dinner here several days ago. The service was impeccable. I ordered the salmon with mushroom risotto and asparagus which was delicious. I’ve seen others comment on pricing. I’m from Florida and thought the prices for such wonderful food were reasonable minus Arkansas’ outrageous taxes on food & beverage, but that’s not the restaurant’s fault.

Was hungry for a burger and the menu looked good so I gave them a try. The building is cool looking and the feel inside was nice. Came early and it wasn’t busy. Service was good and they were nice. The burger was well cooked and good quality meat. Ordered a side salad with it and they were nice to substitute it. The fried pickle was ok, a little crunchier than I like.

Ordered the special.”bronze redfish with risotto and asparagus”.The fish was so tough you needed a serrated knife to cut it. It was seasoned well just way over cooked. But the risotto was worse. The texture wasn’t even close, and there was no taste. The asparagus was spot on. I had a group of six go there the night before and they all ordered steaks. All said the thing. Tough and not well seasoned. The staff was great and great atmosphere. But if you’re going to advertise high end food at high end prices then you need a high end cook or chef!

Great place. The building is awesome! Built back in the late 1800’s as a post office. The food was very good. I’d say on the higher end but not too bad. I hade the salmon and it was really good. Came with a rice that was outstanding and the veggie was asparagus.

First time ever to eat here. Wasn’t impressed with the food. Awesome bartender though, wait staff very nice & personable. The atmosphere was what you would expect from a historical place like Postmasters. The dish I ordered was “Creole Pasta”. But the sauce was “Cajun”. Sorry, but they really are 2 different types of cuisine. Asked if they could put the Creole sauce from their Creole rice dish on it instead, & they did that for me. Very accommodating with my request, but there was so much cayenne pepper in it, well that was pretty much all I could taste. Also the proteins in it were over cooked, and the pasta in it wasn’t al dente’. Maybe the kitchen was having an off night, I don’t know. I might come back again, but definitely won’t be ordering the “Creole Pasta” made with “Cajun” cream sauce.

Just to be curious does the postmasters grill still compete in the magnolia blossom festival steak cookout every year? Like they use to? Do they still have their custom made exotic looking grill they used every year ? Yeah I agree with those 3-4 1 star reviews that this isn’t nothing like it once apon a time was. That over time some things have slowly been changing. For one you better have plenty of money in your wallet or on debit card. It’s more expensive than it used to be. Maybe they got all new cooks. Who have their own particular way of preping and cooking a steak. Maybe the old good original cooks are cooking somewhere else. Maybe died or retired. Or moved on. Maybe their experimenting & their adding more, different, or less ingredients to the steak. Trying to change up the flavor a little bit. The only thing that interests me is that its a mid 1800s post office. That’s been restored. But my last few visits no two were exactly the same.

The meal was delicious and service was friendly. The bar was too loud for my mother & grandmother, so they were kind enough to open the main dining room which was closed because of the small crowd size for a Thursday evening. My filet was cooked a perfect medium rare and my mom enjoyed her salmon. Grandma liked the way her shrimp was cooked to go with the grits.

The food was delicious! The atmosphere was perfect or my 35 to 40 year old age group. The drinks were fabulous and strong. Our waitress Letha was polite, fast and funny.
