We were seated by Rachel, who was a wealth of information and couldn’t have been more genuine in welcoming us. Thereafter, our server Silas was perfection. The outdoor patio has been given expert attention in becoming a beautiful oasis. Loved the vibe and staff morale too – be sure to (tip) buy them a round of beer; see clever way to help employees on menu. The whitefish spread, French Onion soup and patty melt were excellent versions of comfort food… huge menu offering deliciousness. Patio is big dog friendly too. The establishment and its crew definitely earned TEN stars for Perfection! Don’t hesitate.

Fun little venue with a great vibe and cozy atmosphere. Had lunch there in a Friday and was worth the stop. Not a huge dining area but we were seated promptly.

The Friday fish special was a great choice. And the Skatchata was something unique – ham and salami and cheese on a homemade pizza bread. Excellent food and great service. Highly recommend if you want good food and a nice meal.

5 stars all around for great service and mouth watering food. The French onion soup was the best I’ve had. Hot tip: order their bread sticks as a dipping bread for the soup and you won’t leave disappointed

We enjoyed the outdoor seating on a perfect day. All the food was better than I expected. The bread sticks were crisp and warm served with a dip and a spread. The sticks weren’t well with the bloody marys. I ordered the appetizer Whitefish cakes as my entree. All the food was excellent, as was the service.

DELICIOUS “scratch made food “!!! From their own pizza dough, pizza sauce, salad dressings, roasts that create that sandwiches, homemade soups and so much more- this place really takes time and effort to create fresh delicious exceptional food done right!!!
Along with fantastastic friendly service.
It was so good- we ate here twice in one day!

U.P. Bar and grill downtown Marquette Michigan. A slow Tuesday afternoon , service was exceptional and felt we very welcomed there. The place is very dim-lighted with many old photos on the walls of local history . We had an Italian sandwich and a vegetable wrap . Both come with typical potato chips you would find at a convenience store. The Italian sandwich was decent with quality meat . A little thicker bread than I would like and the tomatoes were thick sliced. The veggie wrap was average as well, nothing stood out there. The food that stood out and would order again was their homemade breadsticks . Served with a very generous proportion and with two fabulous dipping sauces. The marinara and a cheesy garlic spread were legit. Those were five star sticks !!

Fantastic casual dining experience. Great atmosphere with tons of local pictures and Lake Superior history on the walls. Very friendly staff with knowledge of the history and food. We loved the breadsticks, as mentioned in previous reviews. Get them even if you normally avoid carbs- it’s worth it! I also had French Onion Soup, which had a rich and flavorful broth…I would order it again!

We went to The Portside Inn for my birthday, and it was a great experience! My husband, our oldest son, and two friends joined us. The food was great, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Everyone in our group really enjoyed their meals. It made for a lovely birthday celebration—highly recommend

What an experience. This was quintessential to visiting Marquette. The waitstaff and ambiance were perfect. Definitely start with some form of breadsticks. We recommend the pesto. The highlighted Italian sandwich on the menu was amazing. The baked whitefish and the pizzas are also good choices. And…don’t forget to buy the kitchen a beer!

Very dog friendly spot. Great outdoor seating. The service was very good. For a sea named restaurant with sea themed decor, their sea related food offering was sparce. I was not overly impressed with the whitefish dip…not my cup o tea. The walleye fingers were very heavily breaded. In general, I thought it was overpriced for the quality of the food.
