Welcome to Portofino’s Ristorante Italiano e Pizzeria. Three Charlotte area locations, plus our newest in Indian Land, SC. Authentic Italian cuisine a warm, friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Our very first Portofino’s Restaurant was opened on Eastway Drive in Charlotte in 1996. Later, Portofino’s on Park Road opened, followed by Portofino’s at the Arboretum. Portofino’s Indian Land opened in May 2018.

It’s a decent Italian chain in the area. We were promptly seated and attended to. Food is fine. Bread was not fresh. Lentil soup was so so. Gorgonzola chicken, pasta primavera and a seafood pasta were all right. Cost is reasonable. We had to ask for bread though, none was served until we asked. And no olive oil with the bread. It’s okay. We don’t mind returning as its the only Italian restaurant around here.

I enjoyed a night out with a group of my gal pals here at this restaurant. I had never been here before. When we arrived, we had to wait a while, because that place was packed. Plus, there were people coming in and out getting to-go orders. Although I didn’t want to wait, that was a good sign that we were going to enjoy our meal, and we did. The food was excellent and service was wonderful. Everyone ordered different things, and all of it was delicious. We had appetizers (garlic knots and bruschetta), and I ordered the lasagna. All of the portions are huge. Plus, I had a fresh salad, so you’ll be taking food home. Simply delicious, great service and cool atmosphere. We will return.

I wanted to give a shout out to an exceptional server, Jose. Jose took amazing care of us on Sunday for my mother’s birthday dinner. Jose offered recommendations that exceeded our parties expectations. The food is always great and prepared quickly. We will continue to be patronizing Portofino’s, and you should definitely ask for Jose if he is working.

When eating at Portofino’s, we usually order to-go due to how busy they tend to be. I forget the name of the dish, but I always order the pasta made with fettuccini, alfredo sauce, broccoli, spinach & mushrooms (always great with a good portion size). The house salad is OK (nothing special), but the house made ranch is some of the best.

Just hosted a baby shower here. The banquet manager was awesome. Staff beforehand and day of were SO nice! Food was really great (one of my daughters fav places) VERY attentive and gave us great service. They even helped rearrange some tablecloths without being asked. Made sure we had plenty of water and drinks. Besides regular dining would HIGHLY recommend for small gatherings, luncheons, showers, work parties, etc. Thank You!!!!!

Last minute went in to order two large catering entrees and was greeted by Emanuel that was so kind and provided me options that they could provided being that it was last minute and they were extremely busy in catering orders for take out. Food was outstanding and everything turned out better than expected for our Christmas party. Thanks again to Emanuel for your excellent customer service and going above and beyond to accommodate us. We will definitely come back here for sure.

Go here fairly often, upscale but not fancy Italian american food. Never been disappointed, this location is bigger and busier than their other locations. Since my wife is Italian we don’t go out much for it because home cooked is great, but this is a good place to go if you want good food and good portions.
Update: Decreasing service rating because server increased tip amount from what I put on the check. This is dishonest no matter what the amount.

The food was great. Service could be better. The only issue is I wish the waitress had provided us accurate information about the portions. We specifically asked if we are ordering too much, but in-spite of that we didn’t get the right guidance. As we were waiting, we asked if we could cancel a dish, but it was not honored. We ended up ordering way too much and bringing home boxes.

Lots of pros and cons. Most of the food was okay, some was fantastic others bad. We started with the fried calamari, which was tasteless and could have been rubber bands. The salads were also not great with lettuce that had red on several of the pieces and the dressing was watered down. My wife got the portafino chicken with Alfredo. Same issue with the sauce being watered down, but the pasta and chicken was near perfect. I got the tortellini, which had sliced sandwich ham, and watered down sauce, but the pasta was fantastic. The portion size was good. The staff was nice, and we had no waiting to get in. We were in the outside covered area so it was okay. So we left feeling conflicted. If I had my guess this restaurant is having financial difficulty.
