If I could’ve gave this restaurant a Z All-Stars, I would you had an order at the kiosk that I don’t like and I ordered the beef and cheese on croissants. It was cold and the cheese would not melt it so I took it back up there and the black guy said that I’m one of the managers after I asked for One he said he will make it for me just to throw the other one or leave it on the counter so I threw it away. The second one he put more cheese and more meat in it and it was warm, but it was so dry no flavor no nothing. I will not recommend no one to come here. and now I see why I don’t see no one in the drive-through at all very much maybe one or two cars at a time even During lunch hour

Unfortunate experience at this location. 4+ food mistakes, none of which were my fault, resulting in us going to the counter 3 separate times. 1st – our kiosk order was ‘lost’ – we noticed this after groups that arrived after us received their order. 2nd – multiple items were wrong. 3rd – after the remake, there were still items made incorrectly.

As a long-time lover of hearty Midwest comfort food, I walked into Portillo’s expecting a classic Chicago experience rich flavors, juicy Italian beef, maybe that signature tang of giardiniera or sweet peppers. What I got instead felt like a culinary bait-and-switch: a meal that looked the part but lacked the soul.
The Italian beef and sausage combo usually the crown jewel of Portillo’s was surprisingly uninspired. The meat was tender enough, but the sandwich offered little beyond the simple (and sadly one-note) taste of beef and bread. No spice, no zest, no hint of that messy, mouth-watering punch that should define a true Chicago sandwich. The sausage barely made its presence known, and the au jus, if it was there, didn’t leave an impression. For the price, it was a disappointment.
The chicken entrée fared slightly better, earning the label “average” and not much else. It was competently cooked but forgettable something you’d expect from a chain on a busy lunch rush, not a brand celebrated for flavor.
At around $50 for the meal, the value proposition collapses entirely. Even factoring in regional inflation or combo pricing, this felt steep for food that evokes fast-casual mediocrity rather than nostalgia or indulgence. When a critic starts mentally comparing your sandwich to Arby’s at half the price, something has gone wrong.

If you are in Grand prairie just stop by at Portillo’s. They have the best hamburgers, milkshake and hotdogs! The fries are amazing! Especially when you order cheese dip for them. Wow! The food is always fresh and hot. The staff here are the coolest! This place is the best to bring your family or your date. After you finish shopping and you want something good to eat, stop at Portillo’s you will not regret it!

The Arlington location is much better with the service and food plus the building is a lot bigger. The hot dog was awful and tasted like plastic, I am from Chicago and this is not a Chicago style hot dog. I would not recommend this location and will not be coming back. How disappointing

Y’all, I have been to Portillo’s in 2 places in Indiana and also at various locations here in DFW, and I’m going to tell you this right now, the Italian beef sandwich I had today was the BEST I have had so far
The restaurant was very clean & the staff very friendly. The patio was clean as well
The drive-thru isn’t open yet, but that’s okay, it’s a new restaurant that’s still working out all the little kinks ‘n what not
They offered a bunch of different swag & trinkets you could buy, from stickers, to magnets, to keychains, & t-shirts.
Don’t walk, run to Portillo’s ASAP!!!!
See you all again real soon

Chicago style Italian beef and peppers is their claim to fame, but their Chicago style hot dogs are great. Their chicken sandwiches are good, too. My husband loves it and we drive a long distance to visit. If one opens closer to home, my vote may actually go up a star.
