We went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The noise level was probably louder than normal, or at least I hope, but because of that my husband and I couldn’t have a conversation without almost yelling. However, we will go back (on a weekday) because my salad was spot on And when I say that I mean EVERYTHING was great about it from the salad to chicken ratio and the crispy bacon giving that extra texture and flavor. The red onions and chives were a great addition, the tomatoes tasted fresh and I love the cheese!!! and whatever that dressing is….delicious! I subbed for the grilled chicken and the seasoning was so well done that I want to know the recipe.
My husband had a cheeseburger with his pick of toppings and he loved how the burger was cooked. Of course his favorite was the cheese sauce but he was a little disappointed that it costs $5 for a larger size. Either way, we will definitely be going again and hopefully getting to enjoy the atmosphere and look around at all the cool decor.

I ordered an Italian combination from Portillo‘s but they always suggest ordering the large one, but they don’t give you enough meat to get the large sandwich. My sandwich has only enough meat for a regular sandwich but they charged me for a large sandwich. The Italian sausage is always small for a regular sandwich. Stop selling the big sandwich if you’re not gonna give enough meat for a big sandwich or enough Italian sausage for a big sandwich you’re giving regular sandwich amount and charging extra money which is ridiculous. Chicago’s versions of this restaurant is so much better when it goes to other states, they just are cheap imitations of good service and food for your money.

This is the only place that I know where the food looks just like the pictures. Great burgers and dogs. The dining room is very cool as well. Just a great place to enjoy some top not h fast food.

While up in Fort Wayne for training, the crew decided to go to Portillo’s. It was very similar to a restaurant that just opened back home called Buona. Similar but not nearly as good. The biggest difference was the flavor of the beef. It was like the saltine cracker of Italian beef. The flavor was nonexistent. The spice level was better but that did not make up for it. I got hot beef bowl with extra gravy, two Chicago dogs, onion rings, and strawberry shortcake. The Chicago dogs were the best part, but they themselves were just mediocre.
The staff was friendly but got our order wrong and we had to request a couple new items.
Overall it was what I would consider the fast food of hot Italian beef. I will not be back.

Perfect Chicago fare, Italian Beef sandwich, crinkle fries, Chicago dog all great, kids liked the tenders. Cheese sauce wasn’t very flavorful though. Great atmosphere.

Best Burger Ive had in a long time. Crinkle cuts are perfectly golden. Best eaten with their warm cheese cup. The large, refreshing soda rinses the food down quite well. …..but don’t stop there. Indulge in their ever famous chocolate cake. Just 1 piece is big enough to share (but you won’t want to).

It’s always clean. The employees have been great and polite every time. And they have the BEST burger I’ve ever had. Seriously. So good. And their chocolate cake milk shake will sent you into a food coma. I’ve never had anything like it. Who crams a slice of chocolate cake into a milk shake? So good.

I ordered the Italian Beef Sandwich combo with Root Beer for dine in. What I got was an Italian Beef Sandwich with a water bottle to go. I made sure to double check all my selections before I placed the order, but my receipt showed that I ordered a water bottle instead of Root Beer and it was given to me in a to go bag. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice the error until after they gave me my food. I was charge over twice the drink price for the water bottle that I didn’t even want instead of the Root Beer that I did want. Make sure to TRIPLE CHECK THE KIOSK BEFORE ORDERING and then still check your receipt afterwards anyways to make sure you don’t get ripped off like I did. I’m not actually super upset about the order being to go instead of dine in, but figured I’d add it to further show the kiosk error
