Luis is awesome. He gives great food suggestions. Makes your visit memorable to let you know you are Portillo’s family. He remembers your visits. He greets you special every time, assists at the table and offers to take your pictures. Luis appreciates your visit by checking on you & keeps you smiling the whole time.

But they have their employees working in a hot weather, I feel like you should leave it to the customers is they want to stay and eat rather than just shutting down the restaurant. I work out of 20 foot truck and to sit down and eat would have been nice. Unacceptable!!!

Addison and Kimball, finally got their act together. I had the plain beef meal, with root beer. The meal was delicious, I feel they can add a little more seasoning. The gentleman taking the orders and handling out the orders, are friendly and polite. They should add another menu board in the beginning of the drive thru.

I walked in and placed a take out order. My order was taken quickly. I then proceeded to the pick up area where I waited longer then I should have for my order. Several people who ordered after I did, received their food before me. Only after I got home with my order did I realize that they did not provide my complete order, part of my order was missing. Unfortunately, I was not able to go back and get the rest of my order. They need to a better job of checking the orders to make sure they are correct and complete before they give them to the customers. The food tasted great. I will give them another shot to get my otder correct.

The food, location and people are amazing. Worth the 3hr drive to visit. Really hit the spot. Got the Vienna beef Chicago dogs and they were amazing.

I used to love the burgers and they still have the same great charcoal flavor, but they are so dry that no matter how much ketchup and mayo one adds, it’s still dry. One time, I ordered a burger and they gave me a cheese burger. I had already waited over 15 min. so when they offered to remake it, I wasn’t going to wait another 15 minutes but regretted it–the cheese made it drier rather than to add some creaminess–it may be American cheese, but it had no flavor. Twice the salad I ordered at the drive through had the wrong dressing and so I entered the facility with the receipt and they were almost going to charge me so I said why should I pay extra when they got the order wrong? Then he sent me to where you pick up orders. I’m not getting burgers from Portillo’s anymore. Have to see what else is on the menu I might like.

I’m from Chicago, and I didn’t go to Portillo’s. I was at the red light going to a dif. neighborhood fast food establishment. Portillo’s is overrated for me,personally. I much prefer going to Munchies, right down the street at Christiana and Elston. Fries are better, food is better, and it’s personable, and the owners are awesome and hands, on. Sorry, Portillo’s, but not sorry ‍♀️

My first time there! The place is huge. They have this process down and service was great. The food is amazing. Take out line is manned by real people not just a machine. Be sure to get the sandwich dipped! With fries!

Compared to other Portillo’s, it’s still seems to be getting its feet underneath it in terms of getting the classics right. The Portillo’s (many to choose from) in the NW suburbs like Niles, Schaumburg, etc. and also SW suburbs like Oak Lawn tend to do the Portillo’s recipes better and maintain a cleaner, friendlier restaurant. Still decent for what it is, but don’t expect to be overly wowed either.
