At Porter’s Real Barbecue we refuse to serve anything other than REAL, fresh barbecue. This means all of our meats are cooked up to 14 hours and our sides are made fresh daily. That means that we regularly sell out of menu items, so check back here often. Life is too short…eat REAL barbecue. Hoping to get at least ten customers a day, to start, they were humbled to see a line of more than thirty people on that first day of business. By day three, the crowds had grown so large that they were selling out of everything Porter could make (150 lbs of barbecue!) within a few hours. Now with 3 locations open this family has put a mark on the food scene in the Tri-Cities community!

Ordered and paid over the phone, the guy Jose was rude and rushing me, obviously too stoned to even listen. When we got home, 30 minutes away we were missing all of our sides, and one entree. When I called to ask he started arguing with me how they were super busy and saying I “didn’t order that”. I told him that was fine and if I could just get a refund on the 3 items I didn’t receive. He kept questioning me when my order was. Interrupting me, eventually when I was saying just give me the refund I’m done arguing, he hung up the phone and they stopped answering my calls. Terrible service and the food looks like a joke in the box. I will be disputing with my bank.

How have I been sleeping on this place for so long!?! I am in Kennewick often for work the last few years but somehow have not been in here until today. Mostly because it can be tough to find good BBQ in Washington. Well, I got in right before noon and figured they definitely wouldn’t be out of anything an hour after opening, amd I was having a hankering for brisket, so I headed over.

I let the guy at the counter know it was my first time when he asked me if I wanted my brisket more marbled or not, and he immediately handed me a sample of his more marbled brisket. I was immediately in love! It’s tender and juicy and it falls apart well all on its own! It doesn’t really need sauce as it is nice and juicy on its own and I actually REALLY dig the crust all by itself. But it goes GREAT with their spicy sauce.

When asking me what kind of sauce I’d like, I had to ask what all they had, which is the usual of sweet and spicy varieties, and they also have mustard sauce! Not being much for mustard sauce on brisket, I let the gentleman know I would be in some other time for some pulled pork which is where I REALLY enjoy mustard sauce, and he mentioned it goes well on the bacon jalapeño poppers I got on the side. What a GREAT call there! The mustard sauce is a HIT on the poppers!

I will definitely be back on a Tuesday some time to get me some burnt ends, which they only do on Tuesdays. I can definitely see myself making my way through the menu here! I was super impressed with the food and very happy with the friendly helpful service!

Brisket was very dry, no flavor to it at all its a shame because Porters was always my family’s go to on busy nights but the quality has gone down hill especially for the price. I had a very nice young man help me today that was very visibly sick. Red puffy face, runny nose, sneezing and coughing. There is no reason he should be working sick like that. I will be contacting the health department. My family and i will not be returning.

The food here was really good. I got half a pound of the pulled beef, 3 of the bacon wrapped jalapenos poppers and a side of the baked beans. Additionally I got the happy IPA. I enjoyed the aesthetics of the inside of the building as well.

I ordered the Johnny’s sandwich and was really disappointed — it came with a quarter pound of pulled pork fat, just fat. The brisket was okay, but the bacon barely hit a 1 out of 5. The staff rushed me through like it was a Subway line, and one of the employees was shouting to a coworker from just 5 feet away — very unpleasant experience overall. ‍

Great barbeque. I had the pulled pork and my husband had the brisket chili. Both were delicious and the Gouda Mac and cheese was even better. Highly recommend!

I’m so torn on this place. Their sauces are really good and the pulled pork is super tender. But it’s expensive and they won’t even give you a bun unless you order 1/2lb. That’s a lot of meat if you just want a sandwich. We ordered the family pack and it came to $60. Way too much for lunch (and just counter service at that) and it honestly was too much food. Fountain drinks are almost $3 each.

The Mac and cheese is absolutely underwhelming. The kids hated the texture (overcooked pasta) and it was almost tasteless. Kids asked if there was cheese in it. The Cole slaw was good.

I’ve eaten here hundreds of times over the years, and I don’t think I’ll be returning. This place used to be amazing several years ago. Over time, the quality has seriously gone down hill. I started noticing this change a few years ago, and I’ve never had a meal to the same quality since. I’ve always gotten the brisket. The brisket now is overcooked to the point it turns into mush. It felt like it used to be a nice firm, yet tender piece of meat that pulled apart with ease. Now it almost has the consistency of pudding. It still tastes like meat, and it is still good, don’t get me wrong. But knowing where they’ve come from, and where they are now, it’s always an extreme let down every time I eat here. Due to this, I won’t be returning.
