Wow. Impressive food, friendly staff. Told our server we would very happily eat here again, and guess what, we’re going back tonight.
We had perfectly cooked NY Strip, amazing Haus Fries, incredible open face prime rib sandwich, and tasty beers from the tap. The house salad was fresh and homemade house ranch was delish.
The motif of the interior gives road house vibes. Our server was perfectly attentive and made perfect recommendations. The chef came out and greeted us and we chatted about cooking. Relaxed vibe, great food, enormous portions. Excellent.
We ARE eating there again. How about that.
Edit: We DID eat there again, and it was every bit as tasty as the first time. Burger, Patty melt, cocktails, Gator bites, all good. Wait staff wonderful. Maybe again tomorrow… kidding, lol. Delightful.

The salad was delicious and service was great! We ordered the namesake Porterhouse steak. Though the flavor was good, too much of the steak was inedible, so not our favorite. We will be back to try some other menu options, as everything else was good.

One of the best steaks Ive ever had! I had Rib eye, husband has NY strip. Both steaks were excellent. Enjoyed Alligator bites and Greek loaded fries for appetizers. Service was absolutely superb. Sarah was our server and was top notch! Highly recommend a visit to Porter Haus! We will be back!

Our table got two orders of the NY strip steak. The steaks were good. The corn on the cob was great, but green beans were so-so. I just don’t like them that crisp. Garlic mashed potatoes were good. Cost was more pricey than other steakhouses nearby. I did like the decor and TVs for watching sports.

Just passing through and glad we stopped here. The wait staff was on point, especially for a busy restaurant. I had the prime rib done medium rare and my wife had the wedge salad which she loved! We enjoyed the atmosphere. We’ll stop again the next time we pass through.

The Best steakhouse around! Took the family while passing through to grab dinner and watch some football. Seated in the back room, games galore for kiddos (and kids at heart) to play as we waited for our food. Very friendly staff. Ribeye steak was INCREDIBLE, perfectly cooked and so yummy! Burgers were big and fresh! And, they serve homemade chips as well. Huge portion sizes for everyone’s order. Genuine mom and pop restaurant too! Definitely plan on a return visit!

I recently dined at Porter Haus and had an exceptional experience! The alligator appetizer is a must-try! It was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and definitely a highlight of the meal. I also ordered the shrimp basket, and I decided to upgrade to onion rings as a side. The meal was absolutely delicious!
For dessert, I went with the cookie skillet, which was much larger than I expected, but so tasty! It’s perfect for sharing.
On top of the fantastic food, the service was amazing—the staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Overall, I highly recommend this place for a fantastic meal!

The first time we had went everything was great.
Came back 2 weeks later and our steak was cooked improperly so when we tried to send it back that manager told us it would be a charge for the new steak even though we ordered based on the picture provided on THEIR menu. Finally when we received our bill, the ‘helpful’ cheat left for customers to tip and not have to do the math, we’ll come to find out that math is wrong. My guess is so customers tip more being too trusting and just going off what they provided.
The server was great however, and feel bad she has to work there.

A Very satisfying Steak Haus! The food was fantastic my med NY Strip 16oz was the best Steak I’ve had this year! So glad we stopped, service was super from being greeted and seated to our knowledgeable, friendly waitress! Will definitely stop here again if I’m passing through Gaylord, MI. ❤️
