I went to Port of Subs for the first and last time during my visit to Reno last week. The staff were very courteous and helpful, however, the meatball sub that I ate was the most disgusting sandwich that I’ve ever eaten. The meat had the taste and consistency of something you pull out of a can.

I was recently introduced to this chain in the Reno Nevada area and I’m not a big fan. They are a cross between subway and jersey mikes but the same quality of the Jersey Mike’s or. Variety if subway is just not there. However, I have always received smiles and amazing customer service which is why I gave it 5 stars.

Good sammies. Sourdough was mild but being so far from a coast it was surprisingly good. The actually slice the cheese and meats right there when you order too. Tasty and fresh produce.

The 1st time was great. 2nd time great also but, the 3rd time I had issues. There was a different staff. I asked for my roll not to be cut all the way through just like the last 2 visits. When the sub reached the toppings it took 2 people to destroy my sub. They actually tore the roll in half after it was already cut. They didn’t understand when I asked for mayonnaise to be put on both sides of the roll instead they put mayo on top of the meat, cheese & tomato. The manager Martin on duty came to the rescue. I returned before leaving to buy a #1 to take home. My hero Martin took care of me.

I ordered a hot sub online. Pick up time was 12:18. I arrived at 12:20. When they had me my sandwich is was cold. It didn’t even have the foil wrap they use when they toast it. First I was told it was made awhile ago and has been sitting there. Then I was told I didn’t put down a note that it was to be toasted. I said it’s a hot sandwich. No effort made to help me just kept telling me it was my fault and I was in the wrong!
