I was craving Flip food and remembered this place had opened last year and had decent breakfasts and lunch combos. I had their bangus the first time and was very filling, like who is going to ever leave starving after having filipino food.
They now have these $9.95 bowls which come with 4 egg rolls , entree with rice. I ordered 2 of the chicken adobo bowls ( save one for office) and Jessica put extra adobo juice. Delicious, although don’t eat too fast as there are small bones.
I dined table side, very comfortable seating and very clean, not dingy like the prior establishment ran by the elderly couple. I might suggest please maybe hook up a TV since the remodel did wonders.
I also ordered the pancit sotanghon to go. It was decent but forgot to ask for a lemon.
Next time, I’ll order bangus if they have it since they had pompano? which I prefer in sinigang. Dude ordering before me ordered the nilagang baboy to go. Looked good. I’ll prob try that over rice next time.
I craved some chicarrone aka The Pork Belly but just had crown work..will grab next time to go as a snack sitting on the 405…
Also going to try their halo halo, but just bought a Caffe Misto from Starbucks.
For Hawthorne Blvd, this is convenient than heading all the way to Carson. Cafe is in a tiny strip mall next to a donut shop, and an Indian shop which used to be a nail place . McDonalds is across the street. Parking is hit or miss.

Only breakfast was being served which was extremely limited. No nilaga soup , scanty offerings. The combo advertised with rice indicated $9.99 and ordered 1 of the 2 fried fish available sale sitting on display so got the tilapia instead of the pompano since it looked pathetic. When I went to pay , she charged me $3 more since apparently it’s $3 for a very extreme fried fish… Had I known that, I would have ordered the longanisa. Anyway, I was ravenous as I’d had been up early for lab and xray tests and this was convenient on Hawthorne Blvd and fasted the night before.
Jennifer was not there this morning. A young girl worked the counter. Knowing I’d be eating fish with many bones, it seems odd a small cup of water couldn’t be offered and disabled so too far to grab my water bottle in the car. Someone took the one handicapped spot by cafe.
All I’m saying is a tiny cup so I dont choke on fish bones. She offered to buy a bottle of water.
Filipino hospitality lacking somewhat..may I suggest a water dispenser as I dont think that’ll kill Pork Belly’s bottom line! Would it kill mgmt to have water on hand.
I dined there and noticed a couple tiny bugs flying skirting about the tables and chairs. but it was a warm morning so watch out ..they may share your meal!
BTW, I was going to order a halo halo advertised but apparently they weren’t making them yet.. baffled and confused, but whatever….short staff..they have their Friday rules?
Lastly, the full array with their day’s dishes was offered at 9:30 yet when I arrived at 9 am, the lady said only limited breakfast was offered..
Next time, I’ll need to invest time heading back out to Carson. Although Pork Belly is convenient for me, close to frwys from my PV residence , it lacks consistency, especially not being able to order lunch yet. My meal should’ve reflected advertised price of $9.99 not $12.99 or place a sign somewhere.

Pork adobo is spot on! Just the right amount of salty, vinegar, and oil. I also tried the goat curry and while the flavor was sweet and good there were just too many bones. My combo came with singang which was the right amount of sour..

We just landed in L.A and was craving for a silog. I got a Longsilog and it was not really satisfying. Garlic rice doesn’t really taste like garlic rice. I think they just used garlic powder. Their eggs are horrible. It looks like it has been sitting in the warmer for ages. I also had pork adobo and lechon kawali. They are decent, but the size is really small.

Lovely Filipino restaurant for dinning in or to go. As its name says, pork belly here is excellent. Crispy yet not over cooked so you get a nice moise meaty layer under the soft juicy fat. They have a good mix of other things that are also very tasty so I’d say get the combo 2 and add more as you go.

We were in LA for an overnight stop before another flight and wanted Filipino food. This was the nearest one that was open. I was nervous because it only had 8 reviews, but to our surprise, this was an amazing place. My family and I got different food items so we could all try them out and every single entry was delicious and my family are good cooks as well so it’s usually hard to please them like that. Ate (I think is the owner or manager) was very friendly and accommodating and patient. There were 5 of us ordering one by one and she just really took good care of us. I highly recommend this place. Amazing food and great customer service. Thank you guys, I will always come back here every time I stop by LA.
