Found this little breakfast spot and loved it! The atmosphere was great, service was so friendly, and the food was phenomenal. Fresh, quality ingredients! The best ever gluten free pancakes I have ever had!! You’d never know they were GF! Definitely a must if you’re looking for a great breakfast spot!

If I could give 100 stars I would. We were traveling to Hershey from the MD Eastern Shore. We get tired of commercialized places. We googled best breakfast near Hershey and this place popped up. We wanted a clean hot breakfast and some kindness after a few days of plastic food and attitude. This place did not disappoint. Caroline was an excellent and attentive server with a smile as beautiful as her heart. She and the owner, Guido, talked about the menu and the homemade hot sauces with such pride and enthusiasm. What a breath of fresh air and reminder of how people should be treated! We enjoyed the Ham and Cheese Quiche, The Farmers Skillet, and the Mushroom Melt. Don’t come here expecting over seasoned food. Respect is paid to the natural ingredients by enhancing them, not drowning them out. We enjoyed every bite. We also purchased some of the homemade fermented hot sauces! Can’t wait to share them back at home. If you are headed to Hershey, stop here. It is worth the extra few minutes to get to. Mt Gretna is a hidden gem!

Ever in search of a good weekend brunch options my friends and I (from York) broadened our search a bit and found Porch & Pantry so we planned an outing to check them out. So glad we did – I’m gluten free and they have GF pancake and French toast options – so exciting for the GF friends! I had GF blueberry pancakes with a side order of scrambled eggs (to avoid a carb coma) and they were delicious! My friends got the Farmer’s Skillet and the (gluten-full) pancakes and said both were incredibly good as well. The GF blueberry pancakes & Farmer’s Skillet are pictured below. Our servers were great and they kept us posted on our orders which were slightly delayed due to a very large party whose orders had gone in before ours. Fortunately they kept us stocked with coffee and tea and we chatted away until our orders came up. If you are in the area (or reasonably close) definitely check them out!

This was my first time in Mount Gretna and I think it’s a magical little town all together! We ate here before a play, and I loved everything about it! We sat on the porch and for the first time in two years updated: 08/02/25
This was a lovely place to have breakfast before starting the Historic houses tour, a major fund raiser for Mount Gretna.
We both had blueberry pancakes, which were delicious
I had a delicious grilled sticky bun. My friend had avocado toast. The coffee was fresh and service friendly.
There is plenty of parking, as Porch and Pantry is located at the far end of a very large parking lot used for several other businesses. Handicap parking is in front of the entrance to the porch, in the back.

This was our first time back since new ownership. When we walked in, there was no one at the hostess table in the front, so we waited a few minutes before going around the corner and seeing a waiter. Once we were seated, our table wobbled, which frustrated my husband. He made a quick fix to stop it. The inside decore had been changed and updated, which was nice. We love the natural lighting and the beauty of Mount Gretna.
The waiter seemed a bit impatient, but he was the only one waiting on tables. He brought a craft of coffee, which was nice. Although we didn’t realize that coffee was $4.50 a piece. The coffee didn’t have a bold flavor, which we like. It was very light. My husband got the left coast enchilada that came highly recommended. I got the eastwood omelet. There was minimal flavoring in both dishes. Which was very disappointing due to the cost of everything.

I Just want to say there are some people that are good people and others that are GREAT! Don’t even know the owners of this place “Hank” but the neighbors just came over and gave Barb whom I’m caring for a plate of food because they had mentioned about they were worried about her because she’s 90 and how was she going to eat with the power out and Hank didn’t think nothing of it and fixed her something to go! That’s what I call a caring, wonderful, great man! Thank you Hank!!!!

Always nice to eat there and talk with the congenial staff. The hot sauces he has for sale are worth a look. Many flavors to choose from!

We love to go here when I am in town for a treat. However 3 times I have been an the sticky buns are never ready in the morning at breakfast time when they open you always are told they are not ready which is annoying because why are they on the menu if they aren’t available? This day we went to visit they were out of ham completely so that limited the menu very much. I had to alter my meal to include bacon which was no ideal. Then our food came out cold. The toast was burnt and the butter wouldn’t even melt it was so hard. Very disappointing and the second poor experience I have had here. I will not waste anymore of my time or money going here.

We’ve frequently visited this place for over 10 years. While the decor is updated nicely, the service is a little spotty. Getting a table was an experience, to say the least. We were patient with what seemed to be a new employee, but I could tell others were frustrated by the process. Food is outstanding, albeit a bit pricey. A personal coffee carafe is awesome, but the coffee was a bit light for me. I would definitely try it again, but with reservations.

This is very nice little diner that is very much walkable from most houses in Mount Gretna. If you drive there, there’s also ample parking. There are indoor and outdoor seats, depending on your preference, I personally love the outdoor seating (basically on the porch, thus the name of the restaurant). Fairly good number of food option, and very well priced. Their bread is made in-house and taste great! Excellent French toast!
