We met relatives here for lunch while we were visiting the area. I have been here a few times over the last ten years and was looking forward to a nice “traditional” breakfast. I was not disappointed. Yum. I had bacon, eggs, hash browns at toast and was a happy camper. The bacon was well done and that was fine with me. My wife had them prep a vegetable scramble she was was good. Service was a bit slow on this day but are waitress was super nice and attentive. Hungry for breakfast regardless of the time of day? Hit Pop’s Branding Iron in Albany.

I learned about the history of Pops Branding Iron while I was there. It’s been in the community since 1964! The vibe in there is cool like a sportsman’s cafe! I shared a Maui Burger and fries with my little one and the food was good. The cool part is I walked the entire restaurant and there is 4 zones. There’s the Lariat Saloon, cafe counter seating, bench and table seating, and a large back area that looks like it would be great for large groups. I’ve always heard of this place and today was the day! I definitely recommend and definitely will be back for more!

This was my family’s first time here and the food was absolutely delicious, our waitress was sweet and attentive with a smile each time she came near. Walking through the restaurants with a wheelchair was easy and spacious. The atmosphere was laid back and just like you were eating at home.
I was highly disappointed though when I took my daughter to the restroom in her wheelchair and it was no where near accessible. I know not everywhere we go will always be accessible but I can hold out hope. I also just want to let others know so they don’t end up in an inaccessible situation.

As we walked in, the smells were amazing. BUUUUUUUTTTT, and this is a big one, I told the hostess (who ended up being our server) that we had 45 minutes to order eat, pay and leave, as we were attending a funeral service and was that doable. She looked at the tickets and said sure, shouldn’t be a problem, and sat us. She came back 5 minutes later asked what we wanted to drink, and another 5 minutes went by and she brought the wrong drinks, apologized and went back to fix it. WE HADN’T EVEN ORDERED YET! It what time dilating Who-naverse were we going to be out in time, if we didn’t shovel the food down our throats like savages? So we politely walked out, tried to pay cash for the coffees. Our waitress was kind enough to not accept. Which is why these are not all 1’s. I really wanted to try the amazing smells, but alas that was not in my future.

We visit this place almost weekly but have decided to spend our money elsewhere where the atmosphere isn’t full of negativity. My family comes in every Wednesday almost because we liked the food on the menu, but the employees who work there and the service they provide always leaves a distasteful experience. There is one employee specifically that we have watched pick and choose which tables she will provide good service to and which ones she gives not even the bare minimum service too, including my family frequently. Often times you will hear the employees badmouth other employees and speak down on them, or laugh so obnoxiously that it ruins the atmosphere of those dining in. Management seems to be nonexistent at this place when you ask to speak to a manager about your experience. This place is going downhill and I wouldn’t recommend it even to my worst enemy because that would mean more money in the pocket of a distasteful restaurant. Good thing Albany has other mom and pop shops to support where good service is provided and the atmosphere is not full of negativity and servers who should not be working in the service industry. Do better as a business and speak with your employees if you want customers to continue supporting small businesses like yours.

Went here for my husband’s uncles 90th birthday. They had more than enough room for all of us in the back. Waitress was very nice and efficient. Food came out quickly and tasted good. Only complaint would be the bathroom is very tight.

Lived in Albany for 18 years and never visited. Coming back to visit family and decided to stop in.
Great variety of food to choose from but some dishes are hit or miss. Tried the Beaver Burger (logger style – extra patty) and it was delicious and very filling. Tried a bite of the chicken fried steak with gravy and it was kind of bland.
Service was exceptional with a friendly waitress.

Such a wide variety of food and I’ve loved almost everything I’ve ever ordered there. Worst case scenario you will like the food. Most of the servers are older ladies but they are such pleasant sweethearts. Even if it’s lunch time I tend to get breakfast items like an omelette or pancakes because the pancakes are pretty killer. The sandwiches are pretty killer too.

Had a fabulous breakfast like always. I asked for my german sausage to be spiral cut ✂️ and they even asked if I wanted it dropped in the fryer. omg, yes, please . We enjoyed: bacon and eggs, German sausage and poached eggs cooked perfectly, club omelet, and more.
