For starters I found it a bit difficult to find this place tucked back in a shopping center. Parking was OK but tight in spots. Very busy the 2 times that we visited and seemed a bit unorganized. I would rate the food as average but nothing special. Good sized interior with a variety of seating, including a bar and deli take out area. I’d dine there again if I was in the area but wouldn’t make special trip.

Poppies Restaurant and Deli has been one of my favorite Delray Beach establishments for years. The last time I came here was with my parents before they passed away and they were so happy with the service and the food. My dad’s favorite was the Matzo Ball Chicken soup. My mom’s favorite was the Hot Brisket Overstuffed Sandwich. Personally speaking, all of the Specialty Salads look delicious, but I prefer the Avocado Mango Salad. Maybe one day I’ll be able to create Matzo Balls the way your wonderful chef(s) do. But, I am very good at cooking Potato Latkes. I say this in the spirit of the holiday season.

This year my family and friends came to celebrate Hanukkah and the memory of so many beautiful people who have passed on; not just my parents, but especially the most recent passing of four extraordinary people who died in a terrible car accident last April. We honor their memories as we celebrate the joy of life.

There’s no way to thank Arthur enough and everyone who was working that night we were lucky enough to decide to visit your wonderful eatery. Arthur worked so hard and he went far and above as an employee with his ability to take care of all of us that night. The food was delicious and for those who were able to enjoy the desserts, not a complaint was heard. Thank you all so very much for allowing us to visit and we hope to do it again soon and encourage others to do the same.

Visited Poppies Restaurant & Deli after seeing positive reviews. The place is clean, spacious, and the menu is extensive. Our group was greeted and seated promptly, which was a great start.

I was excited to see corned beef on the menu and ordered the Deli Omelette and the Deli Lover Wrap. Unfortunately, both dishes were dry and lacking in flavor. The bagel that came with the meal seemed fresh-baked but wasn’t particularly memorable.

Service was attentive overall, but we were surprised to find a charge for three fresh-brewed coffees ($9.75) on our bill—none of us ordered coffee. I flagged it to the server, who removed it promptly, but it’s still disappointing that this error happened in the first place. Fortunately, I caught it before paying.

Based on the food and billing error, I’m giving this place 3 stars. There’s potential here, but my experience didn’t live up to the hype.

The food is very good. Not thrilled with the knish, super dry. The matzoball soup is great. The counter is wonderful for good to go. The bagels are huge and taste like NY/NJ bagels. Bakery items are awesome. This place is not inexpensive, be prepared. But I think our worth the money.

We stopped here for lunch on the way back to Orlando and it was a great decision. We got the corned beef and potato pancakes and both were excellent. Portions were generous. Will definitely be back when we visit the area again.

Don’t ever bother to order a deli sandwich here. While the content if the sandwich maybe fine the “rye” bread is paper thin and the bottom layer had turned to mush when picked up prior to even trying to apply mustard.
Maybe if you ordered the contents ( our table of 4 – 2 tongue, 1 brisket & 1 corned beef) all the same. At $20+++ a sandwich as we would calling this place a deli. FORGETTBOUTIT

WOW…We found an amaizing NY Jewish Deli in Delray. My boy toy is from Brooklyn. None of the deli’s around here or even in Boca are any good. (3G’s is disgusting). I was shocked at the hugh selection and the variety of different foods they offer. Besides the regular deli items, they had several Italian dishes, a lot of great Greek items and a cornucopia of desserts to choose from.

I had a pastrami on a roll and he had a corn beef on rye. Both sandwiches were packed high with delicious meat and hot . We took some potato pancakes and a few other things home to eat later. Their prices are very resionable. We will definitely be back. Go check them out. You won’t be disappointed.

We did not have a good experience at this restaurant and i am thoroughly confused as to why it was so busy to begin with. We had Dimitri as a server and he did a fine job put the food was terrible. My 5 year old daughter took a bite of the burger and spit it out. I got a gyro platter that was overly greasy. Even the fries were bland. The whole family did not like their food here and the kitchen was incredibly inefficient. This place either has bad suppliers for their food or needs improvement in the kitchen in terms of both efficiency and the quality of what they’re producing. I would say both. Pricing was very high relative to quality. Delis in Florida are not too hard to find. If you’re trying to decide between them, this would not be the place that I pick.

I stopped by for breakfast after a 2 hour nature walk at nearby Wakodahatchee Wetlands. Based on my attire, Sherri qualified my nature interests and offered two additional nature opportunities to try next.

She helped me order the best Original Main Matzoh Brie with Onions, and correctly pointed out the delightful pairing with the included apple sauce. Not my first time to Poppies and it’s been consistently great and reliable.

Really great experience. Thank you Sherri and Poppies.

A staple breakfast, deli, lunch icon, which is pretty dependable to deliver good quality food
Update 09-05-24: new owners have really turned this place around. First off, service was outstanding, which was dismal in years past. They also upped their bagel game and they are made fresh daily, reason alone to come here. My wife and I both had the “lean” pastrami which was excellent. We also bought bagels home for tomorrow’s breakfast. They are in the midst of remodeling, but you can already tell it’s going to be much nicer and brighter. I will Definitely be a returning customer now
