So incredibly disappointed in our food tonight. Got a works, special, cheese and pepperoni and the only decent topped pizza was the pepperoni. The cheese pizza only had cheese and sauce on half the pizza. The special and works had hardly any toppings. When I called to complain, I was informed they started weighing their pizza toppings therefore the pizzas were no longer topped as they have been in the past. When I asked if I could send pictures in to find out if this is the new “style” of pizza they are serving, Miranda the manager said she doesn’t have an email with the store and she was the only manager on duty and there wasn’t a way for her to get the pictures. As a lifelong Poppa Rollo’s patron, who raised two kids to be patrons, this is exactly how local businesses go out of business. We drove to town, 30 minutes each way, and passed plenty of big brands who could have provided a much better product in half the time. You need to update the pictures on your social media and website because what you’re posting definitely isn’t what you’re selling. Way too much money for way too little.

Our $50 pizza was just ok. However, their customer service is poor. The wait time for take out was ridiculous. The workers had no respect or sense of customer service. This is a prime example of why this business is losing customers. Very disappointing because I used to love coming here.

We’ve been Poppa Rollo’s fans since I was a teenager, however it’s gone incredibly downhill the past few times we’ve eaten there with tonight’s experience being the worst.
We ordered a chef salad, Detroit style veggie pizza with pepperonis, and a large pizza. We received the salad after asking for it and it only had cheese and lettuce. We were told they were out of turkey and she would bring the other ingredients out. She never came back and when we asked she said they were out of the other three ingredients.
Our Detroit pizza came out cold but we didn’t complain hoping our regular pizza would be better. The other pizza never came – when we asked about it the waitress was completely unaware we ordered another pizza. There were three tables in the entire registrant with guests so you couldn’t blame it on being busy. Multiple times we asked for the waitress and she was on her phone at the bar. Poor experience, sadly we won’t be back after this experience.

Couldn’t order mini pizzas on doordash, website wasn’t allowing phone in orders. Was a 20% discount on phone orders. When I called to order the girl on the phone talked over me and was rude. Wouldn’t honor the discount. Went to pick up the pizza, most of the staff was off in their own world. Girl employee at the bar was arguing with the guy employee at the bar. We ordered the mini and it was give to us all smushed up in the box. The large was a Hawaiian pizza. It was not cooked all the way, was soggy on the bottom. Great amount of toppings on both pizzas.

The food is decent, nothing special. They are generous with their toppings. What is awful is the service! Never fails that I always wait forever to sit, go get drinks, to order food, and to play. You name it, you will wait for it. Don’t expect to spend less than an hour here, no matter how slow they are.

Party of 3 arrived 10-12 minutes after opening. No one to greet and seat, so waited a few minutes. Seated, given menus, and drink order taken. Minutes passed and finally order taken. Salad not crispy and no cucumber. Waited 30+ minutes after salads served, for pizza to arrive–had small amount of pepperoni and the Canadian bacon which looked like the thinnest shaved meat I’ve ever seen, had little taste. Staff only checked with us 1 time after pizza arrived. Servers checked often with buffet patrons. Had to ask person behind the bar for our ticket. No more will I recommend Poppa Rollo’s to friends or enemies and unless someone picks up the tab, I will not return to Poppa Rollo’s. (I get it that every business has a bad day–short staffed, supplies did not arrive, hot water tank went out, etc., but I expect the food and service to match the price, which Poppa Rollo’s failed miserably to do today).

We waited nearly 2 hours for ONE pizza.
We sat down at 6pm and ordered an appetizer, which came quickly. But when we ordered our pizza — the restaurant’s own signature pizza — they somehow messed it up. All we asked was to remove artichoke and add chicken and bacon. Instead, it came out wrong and had to be sent back around 7pm.
The manager came out and confirmed the order, yet we still didn’t receive our food until 7:45. At that point, we didn’t even stay to eat; we just took it to go. To make things worse, we were still charged full price — $39.91 — despite waiting nearly 2 hours for a single pizza the restaurant kept messing up.
No apology, no attempt to make it right, nothing. Just poor service and wasted time. I regret coming here and will not be back. I’ll also be telling my friends and family to avoid this place.
