The menu is not huge but still has a very interesting variety.
I have tried different things in the many times I’ve come here. The Unagi don still hits the spot – the eel meat is tender and melts in your mouth and the sauce is just delicious.
The fried squid is also another must – so delicious!
Many roll options if interested in eating sushi.
Mr Shiro Poporoya is such a lovely host, always smiling and greeting his customers.
Totally recommend this place.
As a bonus, I really like the green tea, the one in the carton box instead of the canned one, and would recommend this as a beverage pairing with the food here if you’re also a fellow green tea lover.
I’ve been back a couple times after, since thats how good the food is, and the wasabi here sometimes feels like its house made/fresh since it has that super freshly grated texture and also the spice and taste that only the raw wasabi vegetable can give.
Overall, its become one of my favorite restaurants in Milan. Also really appreciate our waiter, Eddison. Its a fan favorite and its to no surprise why it is so.
I recommend mixed sushi plate if you want have different tastes. The quality is high, the quantity of fish is more than the classical all you can eat places. It worths to try.
This is just one example of the reduced experience since they moved over the road. Oh well.
– The katsudon was not good at all: pork was very hard, almost burned / black, with too much salt and pepper. I could not finish it.
– The egg around the katsudon was barely cooked and it was covered in runny white egg, not nice at all.
– Everything did not taste fresh to me and I don’t believe that pork was fresh.
– Miso soup was almost good but too salty.
– Green tea was not green tea, it was fine but it was some other tea.
– Dorayaki was heavily processed and not very nice
– Unagi was pretty good
– Space is very small and cramped
– The place did not look that clean to me and one of the plates they gave me had a big crumb of food stuck to it.
– Italian music is playing, staff is Italian, customers are Italian.
I’ve eaten in hundreds of Japanese restaurants, including in Japan, there is no comparison…
Atmosphere is relaxed and the chef and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. If you’re there around closing time, you will likely get treated to a glass of sake by the chef.
Another plus point is the authenticity. From the space decoration, to the tastes and the food you feel like you’re in Japan.
Don’t expect fine dining, but do expect a 100% authentic izakaya experience.
