Great neighborhood restaurants filled with regulars. The waitresses knew most of all the customers by name which always shows you a loyal following due to great food.
The menu is huge considering they’re open for breakfast and lunch only. Their lunch entree sounded wonderful but we were there for breakfast.
I got the Country Benedict which was very good and huge. I definitely needed a takeout box when I was finished.
Looking forward to our next trip.

The service was friendly. The food was mediocre. The grits were disgusting, my grandson loves grits and would not eat them. He tried to doctor them but there was no help for them. The atmosphere is very cramped. They have crammed in tables to where if you walk past a table you are definitely bumping into someone. Staff was friendly. Cooks need to pay attention. Watch temperatures, keep food at safe temperatures. (Potatoes).

i love this place so much, its my go to breakfast spot. the staff team is small but they all are awesome and so kind. for the first time i ordered lunch to go today, the “lemon chicken rice” soup of the day was to die for oh my goodness. they had my order ready in minutes, packed with care and everything i could possibly need (much appreciated). everything is delicious, reasonably priced, generous portions, real food, great people ❤️

Server was Debi. The food was fantastic. I’ve never had a bad meal at this Popi’s Place in Sarasota. It has always been wonderful experience and excellent food. I’ve updated images from this visit.

I have been back quite a few times since this review. I didn’t know the name of my server for this review when I wrote it but I do now. Irene was my server during my first visit and she is amazing, always friendly and a joy to speak with during my meals. She leaves me alone when she sees I’m busy and takes her time to have a wonderful conversation with me when she sees I’m bored regardless of how busy she appears to be at the time. She always takes time with all of her customers. This really is a great place to go and you cannot beat the price for the food and service you receive.
Experience
This is the fastest service I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve eaten at an insane number of restaurants across the world. I had a meeting starting in less than 30 minutes.
I walked in at 9:02 a.m., I asked the server behind the counter how fast can you bring me out two eggs over easy, hash browns, a side of sausage links, and an unsweet tea because I have a meeting in less than 30 minutes.
I sat down, she brought me my tea, I put sweetener in the tea and stirred the tea. I took one sip of my tea and she brought out the food and put it in front of me. I have never seen food come out that fast fully cooked. Fast food restaurants are not even that fast with their food. I ate my food and left at 9:14 am. I made my meeting without a problem.
Pros: fast service, friendly service, Great tasting food, low cost especially for the amount of food you receive, bathroom was clean, countertop, booths and tables were clean, dishes were clean, food was cooked perfectly and I even came back the next day and order the same thing and the food was again cooked perfectly.

Very friendly, fast and delicious. Got scrambled eggs, toast, potatoes and bacon, very good. Son got the chicken biscuits and gravy. That was really good. Would definately go back.

This is my go to place for breakfast or lunch. The staff have become like family members and truly are the heart of this restaurant. The food is wonderful and should there be any issue at all, It is gladly corrected. I am there at least once a week and enjoy it each and every time. Anytime I bring my grandchildren with me, they’re treated like the royalty, I believe them to be! And do yourself a favor, go on a Friday and have a bowl of their clam chowder. It’s absolutely sinful. I cannot say enough about this wonderful, warm, friendly diner.

This used to be a reasonably priced neighborhood diner. My wife and I stopped in today for breakfast but saw my usual eggs benedict was $15 and wife’s chicken biscuit breakfast was $17. So a $32 breakfast becomes a $41 breakfast after tax and tip. Good thing we didn’t want coffee. I can afford to eat out, but couldn’t stomach the price.
