I went through the drive-through and ordered chicken, expecting a normal meal. When I got home and opened my food, I immediately noticed something hanging off my chicken breast. After looking closer, I was completely mortified to realize it was an entire chicken neck and head — eyes, beak, and all still attached.
I understand that mistakes can happen, but there is absolutely no excuse for something like this making it into the fryer and then being handed to a customer. It was shocking, disgusting, and completely unacceptable.
When I called to report it, the staff didn’t believe me. So we took it back to the restaurant ourselves. The employee who looked at it confirmed right away that it was a chicken head. I asked to speak to the manager, but was told she “is hardly ever there.” Her name was Alicia.
Alicia later called me and said she saw the picture and thought it was an “old chicken tender.” I then sent her a video clearly showing the chicken head, eyes, and beak. She changed her story again and tried to claim it was a chicken leg. At that point it was clear they were more interested in avoiding responsibility than addressing a serious food-safety issue.
I will be reporting this incident to the local health inspectors. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend people avoid this restaurant at all costs. If something like this can happen — and the management still refuses to take it seriously — it is absolutely unsafe.
The service was also very friendly and fast, especially in the drive-thru. The staff was attentive and made sure my order was correct. I will definitely come back again. Highly recommended!
Never had an issue with the food or employees here. Today I waited 10+ mins for my chicken to be fresh which I did not mind at all. The employee gave me an extra meal for the long wait, very much appreciated. I always take advantage of the Popeyes coupons we receive in the mail.
Unfortunately ours were lackluster. The sandwiches didn’t have much sauce and no pickles (not a first at this location), which was disappointing.
We ordered 3 sides of red beans and rice, and instead got 1 large order. I’m pretty sure that 2 regular sides equals 1 large, but I could be mistaken. It could’ve been because they didn’t have enough rice, the ratio was heavy with the beans.
Next, my boyfriend’s sweet tea didn’t have any ice. Not the biggest deal since we have some at home, but slightly annoying.
No blackened ranch for our tenders that we ordered. For fans of that sauce, it was such a miss since there’s nothing like it.
And finally, picking up one of the tenders, we get the saddest looking one I’ve ever seen. It looked like a fried stick. Hardly any meat and not appetizing.
While most of the food itself was decent and we did eat because we were hungry, it was overall a lackluster experience and makes us not want to seek out this Popeyes again. We don’t have a lot of Popeyes in our area so we would have to drive further to a hopefully decent location.
I hope this can improve, especially soon since we want the full and good fish sandwich experience!
Also only 3 people in the kitchen and one on the window. Strangers walking up to cars asking for receipts? Just bad! Do better
I was soo excited to go to Popeyes … but, it Sucked!
First Horrible Service, then Mediocre Food at best (thats being generous)
with “Little Portions” that included “Half Empty containers. “
What a Rip Off.
I love Popeyes but I will never go back to this location ever again.
Save yourself the headache Avoid This Place!
With all the one star reviews, its obvious the owner does not care about their customers and only pretends they do on Google after they get a bad review.
Everything about the outside first impression is awful. Doesn’t get much better once you enter. No greetings, messes, bathroom door doesn’t even work. Zero care anywhere.
I ordered online and went in to pickup so I didn’t have to wait in line. Still sooo slow. Five other people were just waiting for food, I’m not sure why no one was being served. I was there for lunch and they had only been open for an hour yet their entire self service area was empty. No utensils, napkins or anything useful. The soda machine was dripping and corroded all over and was leaking onto the counter and floor but no one cared.
Please, just care about your locations. The food is good and should be enjoyed but I have to order online and close my eyes during pickup because it’s such a disaster.
