The service at Popeyes was another highlight. The cashier greeted me with a warm smile and exuded positivity, which set a welcoming tone for my visit. It’s always refreshing to encounter staff who genuinely seem to enjoy their job and are eager to make your experience enjoyable.
## The Negatives: However, the main attraction—the food—unfortunately didn’t live up to expectations. The moment I bit into the chicken, I noticed it was undercooked. This was quite disappointing, as I had been eagerly anticipating that signature crispy, golden exterior with juicy, flavorful meat inside. Instead, the chicken lacked that fresh, satisfying taste Popeyes is known for, leaving me underwhelmed.
I hope this was just a rare off day for the kitchen, as I know Popeyes is capable of delivering delicious meals. Until next time, I’ll remain hopeful for a more consistent dining experience.

The close their doors at 7 so drive thru only apparently. I have been here numerous times and they have NEVER had sandwiches, atleast 10 times I’ve been here, that’s not even counting the other things they’re always running out of. They’re slow, despite putting a mobile order in 20-30 minutes early. After they take their time getting your food together, it’s cold and the already dry biscuit are also stale.

we pulled in the drive thru around 10:55pm and assumed this would be acceptable due to the posted closing time being 12am, but we were met with no response after minutes of waiting. we decided to go inside around 10:58 assuming maybe the drive thru was closed an hour early, but was met with an employee continuing to ignore us until she looked up and immediately let out a huge sigh/groan, put her head down on the counter, and started banging her fist on the counter before turning to her coworker saying very loudly “we’re never getting out of here!” we saw that they were already cleaning and she took her sweet time moping over to the register so we just decided to leave. if the hours posted are incorrect both online and on the store this should be fixed, but this employee’s disdain for working was very sad to see. many people would be so grateful to have that opportunity to work and earn money, if you don’t want to work then quit. mind you there were multiple baskets of food sitting out already that we would have gladly paid for, but because of the rudeness and laziness of this employee we decided to take our business elsewhere. please do not go here if they have already begun their closing process or you will likely be met with this same disrespect if not worse! this encounter occcured on sunday, january 4th around 11pm in case any terminations need to take place

I come to this Popeyes all the time. Different days of the week, different times of the day. And no matter when I come, I have about a 20% chance of getting the one good thing on their menu, The Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Everytime I go, I think “surely, they cant be out of the ONLY THING POPEYES IS KNOWN FOR”, and almost every time, I am disappointed. This place is less than two minutes from my house, but I intentionally go to the one on Prien Lake Rd, because at least there the odds are about 75%. Just go to Whataburger instead.

Absolutely the WORST Popeyes location imaginable in Lake Charles. They are always out of chicken — how does a chicken place run out of chicken this often? When they do serve food, it’s frequently cold and clearly sitting around. The staff is rude, careless, and acts like customers are a burden. On top of that, the place is filthy and unhygienic, which makes the whole experience disgusting. This isn’t a one-time issue — it’s every visit. Avoid this location at all costs.

The girl working the counter often told customers “You have to wait, I have to make all these people’s food before I can take your order” even though there was plenty of help.

I seen so much kindness today. Arriving at Popeyes on country club rd, I noticed the drive thru was busy, I waited. I seen a woman come out explaining something to her drive thru people in line. I couldn’t hear her. I had to run home, then was going to run back. When I got home I called to see if everything was okay, to check on her, since I didn’t hear what the woman was saying. Then she told me what happend, and that it was her that came out to the drive thru. Even though an unfortunate event happend she still took the time to come out and talk to her people, and even thanked me for checking on her and insisted that I let her take care of me. Even though this event happend everyone was still kind, had smiles and was working in a timely manner, and fresh hot food. It costs notning to be nice, you never know what kind of day that person had. I understand it’s fast food, I understand it’s high functioning. But always remember they are human, and things happen. Thank you Mrs Terrell and staff!
