I was excited to try the new Popeyes in Lapeer because I think it’s a great addition to the community. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I waited about 35 minutes in the drive-through, and when I finally got my order, my five-piece combo only had four pieces of chicken. Normally I might not make a big deal about a missing piece, but when you’re paying $16.50 for a meal, accuracy matters. For that price and wait time, I expected better attention to detail. They also would not let me use my gift card, which I have on the app to pay for my food.

Ordered a 3pc chicken tenders but gave me a chicken sandwich instead. Was supposed to have a side of ranch with my fried pickles yet didn’t get any sauce in the bag. Ordered regular fries and was given Cajun fries. For all the workers that are there they should be on top of everything!

We tried popeyes in lapeer for first time today as its a new store..we were Extremely dissapointed..the chicken was Krispy and juicy but absolutely flavorless..the Mac n cheese was generic same you get at any fast food not so good..the coleslaw was $5.89 for a container that wasn’t even close to full..the slaw had a weird flavor to it is think its seasoned w dill..not to our liking..the best part of our order was the biscuits..we will not be going back

The only thing good was the atmosphere. Our food had absolutely no flavor. If you order through the kiosk, it offers drinks that aren’t even available. They also forgot our drinks. The biscuits were old and dry. My chicken was so red on the inside. I was so excited to get a Popeye’s and it was just a huge let down. On top of all of that, 3 people cost me 50.00. I am happy to pay that if the food was good but it just wasn’t worth it.

The good: the spicy chicken breast was delicious. The biscuit was exceptional.
The BAD: the red beans and rice were 75% rice!
And at $5.49 for a large side, it was an extreme disappointment. Long wait in drive thru.
$22 for two breasts two large sides and two biscuits. No drinks. This is a bit high even if all was perfect, but with over $11 for two sides that were very substandard, it was robbery.
I hope they can get their act together.

I loved the spicy chicken. The shrimp basket was good The red beans and rice were great. Biscuits wonderful even the fried pickles were delicious. 20 minutes drive thru not bad for opening day.

We’ve gone here twice in two days and been VERY satisfied with the food and service. Today the computers shut down, due in no part to the workers and the staff STILL managed to make up for it by providing exceptional service. The Manager Kelly was the best investment they’ve made so far. Glad to see this added to Lapeers’ roster of Fast food restaurants.

Service was excellent, but the overpriced food simply was not. I ordered tenders and received fried chicken instead. I didnt mind too much, but the chicken was still surprisingly bland. Not at all the “Louisiana flavour” the brand implies. The fries were similarly unflavored but were also incredibly soggy to a degree I have never seen before. On top of this, they didn’t seem to have sweet tea at the drink station. It was just an overall waste of money. No shame to the workers, but the food just is not on par with other places around.
