The food was well cooked, juicy with an awesome breading that was crispy and not greasy. There were plenty of Fries and one of the best Cole Slaws I’ve had in a long time.
The place was very clean, inside and out and I loved the music and ambiance.
I’ll definitely be coming back soon…
I came to try the new wraps. I love wraps. I don’t like pickles which they have pickles in them and I didn’t realize but other than that the wraps are solid. Good price. I got two wraps and a lemonade for $12. There is too much tortilla for the piece of chicken though.
As I approached the lobby a full 30 minutes before closing, an African American male employee in his 40s ran to lock the door in my face. Without a word of greeting or explanation, he dismissively told me through the glass to use the drive-thru.
The service only worsened at the drive-thru. The same employee informed me they were out of Mac & Cheese. As I was on the phone deciding on an alternative, he abruptly ordered me to pull forward, despite there being no other cars in the drive-thru line and the lobby being completely empty. When I questioned this unnecessary request, he escalated the situation by calling me names and giving me an intensely aggressive stare that felt physically threatening. I genuinely felt unsafe, as if he was prepared to escalate further.
To my dismay, an African American female employee nearby, instead of defusing the situation, made negative comments about me that I could hear and mirrored her colleague’s confrontational stance. It seems that they were not happy about their job and were ready to leave, although it was only 9:30 ish, a good hour or two before closing time. The only professional and courteous staff member was an employee with colorful hair who was working on orders. The male employee was so furious at me that he didn’t even come back to the window to hand me the food, it was the lady with colorful hair that passed me the order through the window. She handled my transaction politely, which was the single positive point in this ordeal.
This entire incident is a clear violation of the basic customer service standards Popeyes claims to uphold. The hostile behavior, name-calling, and complete lack of hospitality have ensured I will likely not be returning at this restaurant unless Popeyes makes some changes through their policy or takes appropriate actions against these employees. This location is in desperate need of staff retraining.
