At Popeyes 2660 S Hwy 17-92, Sanford, FL, 32771, we don’t just serve food – we serve flavor. Our chicken is hand-battered, marinated for 12 hours, …

The Chicken at 4958 W State Rd 46, Sanford, FL is absolutely disgusting unless your getting the sandwith. It was dry and black in the middle on the last two occasions as if it has been sitting all day it reheated from the day prior…
I have never ever had a complaint from the Popeyes at 2660 US-17 #92, Sanford, FL not once since 2013.

First noticed that every window in this restaurant is smeared and filthy. No attempt to clean anything. Ordering at the kiosk has become a real battle. Tried to pay cash and had to wait 10 minutes at the counter for someone to notice me. Chicken pieces were very small and mostly breading. Side order of mashed potatoes filled only halfway in container. Will not ever return.

We stopped in after dark only to see the lights were out and thought that the business was closed. Then we noticed people in the lobby, so we went to place an order at the kiosk. Once we placed our order we went to the counter to pay for it only to be delayed by about 15 minutes waiting for someone to process our payment. Apparently this restaurant has a staff for the evening hours that don’t typically want to work there or care about the customers as the lady behind the counter completely ignored us, standing there, not doing anything behind the counter and talking to somebody in the kitchen like her conversation was more important than us. It is sad to see that a popular fast food restaurant has such poor quality staff members in the evening hour of dinner and if they don’t tend to the restaurants interest or the customer interest. This is one store that is not recommended to visit during the dinner, rush hours or after hours. We are watching also a DoorDash waiting over a half hour for them to put together an order again. This is not a restaurant to order from when there’s no managers on site. The atmosphere is very toxic at night.

Go somewhere else for your fried chicken, this place does not care one bit what they send out the window. We ordered one of their online bundles and every single piece of chicken (sandwich, boneless wings, bone in chicken) was dry, old, and cold. It was ready more than 5 minutes before my pickup time but I’d rather have waited the 5 minutes for fresh food. I also ordered a 3 PC mixed bone in chicken, but instead of frying some new chicken, they just gave me a bunch of old, dry wings and called it a day. The atmosphere and service are as to be expected for a fast food joint, but please don’t spend your money here, you’ll be disappointed.

Popeyes might honestly have the best chicken around — the flavor, crispiness, and quality of the food is hard to beat. I’ve ordered from many locations, and the food consistently delivers. That’s why I keep coming back.
But here’s the problem: the service is consistently poor. No matter which location I go to, the atmosphere feels heavy and frustrated. Any time I order mild tenders “cook to order” — which is how chicken is meant to be prepared fresh — I get looks of annoyance or frustration, like I’m making things harder for them. But the truth is, fresh chicken is always worth the few extra minutes, and customers should feel welcome to request it.
What I notice over and over is that the employees don’t seem supported. I often overhear staff saying they’re overworked, and the managers themselves sound frustrated. That energy rubs off onto the customer experience. Instead of feeling like a place you want to enjoy a meal, it feels tense.
Popeyes needs to realize: having the best chicken isn’t enough. Service matters just as much as food quality. If the company doesn’t address how they treat and manage their employees, this will come back to bite them eventually. Customers can taste great chicken anywhere — but they also want to feel respected and valued.

Popeyes, You Won Me Back For Now!
I had honestly given up on Popeyes. Everywhere I went before, the food was either subpar or just plain disappointing. But I happened to be in a new area, came across some coupons, and decided to give them another try…and wow, I’m glad I did!
The chicken was fresh, hot, and perfectly crispy! The store was noticeably clean and well-kept, and the service was surprisingly great
…which, let’s be real, Popeyes isn’t exactly known for. Everyone was polite and professional, and the food came out fast.
I figured it might’ve just been a lucky day, so I went back about two weeks later… and it was still just as good! Consistent, flavorful, and worth the trip. I’m honestly impressed and hope they keep it up!

Food was good, they are always running out of things. This trip was only 2 pieces of Spicy and no honey… You must order from kiosk which doesn’t allow you to make changes easily. Staff was stressed and didn’t sem to know what to do when the manager had to leave to buy gloves. Odd experience..

Waited 20 minutes for chicken and still forgot my biscuits. Didn’t even bother calling or coming back but the cashier was really nice. Then the chicken taste like it didnt have seasoning on it.

This is a chicken restaurant that apparently doesn’t have chicken. I ordered a one piece kids meal for my four year old and waited over 25 minutes. When I finally asked about the order, I was told they were out of chicken. No apology. No explanation. Just attitude.Meanwhile, for the entire time we were waiting, I watched boxes of chicken being packed and sent out through the drive through window.
When I calmly said I wished someone had let us know sooner, the employee began shouting and claimed she hadn’t even seen my order. So not only was there “no chicken,” but my order wasn’t acknowledged for over 25 minutes. They also didn’t have Coke or desserts listed on the menu. At that point, I requested a refund. Instead of handling it professionally, I was yelled at again and told to step outside or she would call the police despite the fact that I never raised my voice or acted confrontational. All of this happened in front of my four year old daughter, who ended up leaving in tears because of the employee’s behavior.
I ultimately had to dispute the charge with my credit card company because the refund wasn’t properly handled. This location is disorganized, hostile, and completely unprofessional. Extremely disappointing for a business in the Heathrow area.
