I visited this Popeyes location looking forward to some perfectly fried chicken. At first glance, everything looked fine—the chicken was visually appealing. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there, both for me and my dog.
My total came to $52. I usually meal prep, and planned to use the chicken as part of my meals for the week. However, after eating just one piece, I became violently ill. I also noticed the mashed potatoes were oddly lumpy and unappetizing—I couldn’t finish them.
Like many pet owners, I gave the leftovers to my dog. That turned out to be a terrible mistake. Not only did I suffer from nausea, vomiting, and severe headaches, but my dog has now been throwing up for two days. I can’t help but ask: what was in that food?
I feel absolutely sick—physically and emotionally. I paid $52 only to end up feeling poisoned. It’s heartbreaking and frustrating.
To make matters worse, the customer service was just as bad. The manager seemed more focused on chatting with friends behind me than helping me. I had to wait for her to finish her personal conversation before she even acknowledged me. When she did, she rushed my order, apparently because a delivery driver was waiting. Honestly, I feel like I was handed the leftovers or worst parts of the food just to get my order out of the way.
I’m not from Maryland, but I keep getting sick when I eat out here. This visit ended with me back in the ER for what seems to be another case of food poisoning. I just want to get home safely at this point.
This experience has left me completely disgusted and disappointed—not just with this Popeyes, but with the state of restaurant food safety in general. All we ask as customers is to be served safe, quality food that matches what’s advertised. This location failed on every level.
Food wasn’t fresh the last two times I ordered from here either, and I chalked it up to everybody having bad days once in a while. But this franchise has reached the point of not caring but also being disrespectful to its customers.
