We were across the street this weekend for a hockey tournament and ordered pizza for pick up Saturday night. The app worked fine and gave us a pick up time (7:05 pm) and when we arrived at that 7, the store was closed. No lights on. No people in the store. I tried to call them to inquire about our order and the phone just rang. If the establishment closes for the winter, their app should be disabled. My bank account was charged and I’ve now had to dispute the charge with my bank.

Been coming to OC for many many years, and tried popes for the first time this year. I was not disappointed at all. I know people may think it’s crazy but I kid you not when I say BEST PIZZA IN OCMD. I’m a huge fan of thinner crispier pizza, not overpowered by a mountain of sauce, and Popes does it perfectly. The cheese to sauce ratio is spot on, and the crust…oh the crust, crispy but not burnt, amazing. I know there’s bigger names out there but give Popes a try, you won’t be disappointed..

Our experience with Pope’s Pizza this weekend was quite mixed. I’ll start by saying that I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza itself. It was hot, the ingredients tasted fresh, I loved the soft crust, and I enjoyed the toppings.
Of note: I’m not sure if this is customary, but they charged full price for toppings we got on only half of the pizza. This came out to $10 for one meat and two veggie toppings on HALF of a 16-inch pizza, which seemed a bit excessive. Additionally, one of the toppings we ordered was sausage, but they mistakenly put pepperoni on instead. It wasn’t the end of the world—I get it, mistakes happen. But what bothered me is that when I told them I didn’t have time to wait for a remake, they made no attempt to make it right (discount, credit for a future purchase, comped side, etc.). I don’t think this is good business practice.
Final note about the pizza: as silly as this sounds, it was sliced very poorly! One slice was enormous, while another was less than half the size of a regular slice. This discrepancy is far from ideal when sharing a pie with friends.
We also ordered a chicken parm sub, and it was terribly disappointing. Not only was it basically all bread, but the little chicken/cheese/sauce in there tasted like it had been frozen and microwaved. The contents were dried out, lukewarm, and—frankly—didn’t taste good. The worst part is that this wasn’t an $8 sub—we paid $20 for this atrocity! While I may consider getting pizza again in the future, I would never order another sub from this place, nor would I recommend anyone waste their money doing so.

This is the best place for pizza in OC. The buffalo chicken pizza is our favorite. It’s the best!!! Online ordering is easy and pick up is quick. Location is easy to get to. We are looking forward to trying more pizza from here!

Love this place !! It moved in right down the street from us and my kids can’t get enough. The pizza is fantastic! We went during the soft opening and got one cheese one pepperoni. At first I thought the toppings were a bit pricey until I got the pizza. It was loaded with meat! Neither pizza felt greasy and it was crispy not floppy. We’ve been back a few more times for pizza since and never disappointed. My boys like it so much I told them they had to start buying their own pizza. Eventually we’ll try something else now that they have their expanded menu!
And a bonus, they will deliver to the beach if you ask!

Would not recommend ordering online. We ordered Friday evening after a long day of traveling and when we went to pick it up, they was closed. They had already taken the money out of my banking also. Called the number, with no answer. There was also other people there, with the same problem.
So it said they opened at 11 on Saturday, we came back at 12, still nobody there. At around 4 PM Saturday I got a text saying your pizza is ready. So we drove there and they said it was a glitch in the online system, so we could wait for the pizza or get a refund. I did get the refund this morning, but not a good experience, and we won’t be back……

We ordered the OC Wing pizza and it was FABULOUS. The crust is thin and crispy and it was loaded with toppings. Very clean atmosphere. Owner and worker both extremely friendly and personable. We have found a new OC favorite!

We grabbed the 2 XL pizzas for $25 deal for a quick lunch. My grandkids love this place so we wanted to try it when we were in town. I’m admittedly a picky eater. I like sausage pizza but I like the sausage ground. Popes had a ground option and a sliced option which was perfect for me. The sausage pizza did not disappoint. I ate half the pizza in one sitting. I’ll be trying something new here next time we come back for a visit.

Pope pizza was probably one of the best pizza places I’ve had in a very long time. Every year I stay at the carousel hotel, and I’ve always drove by pope pizza, but never tried it. I saw all the great reviews and I just had to give it a try. I went in there. The employees were very nice especially this man with gray slick back hair in a blue shirt. He was very nice and the food was fresh and couldn’t be made with any more delight. If you’re looking for a good pizza place as family oriented, this is the place that will do it.
