Everything I tasted was delicious! Crab hush puppies/fritters are a great appetizer (not pictured). There’s an upstairs dining area perfect for large groups. Will definitely visit again.

Stopped by for brunch/lunch today and overall had a really good experience. The place has a great vibe and looks really nice inside. I ordered the breakfast burger and it was solid — great flavor and the presentation was on point.
The only small hiccup was they were out of lemonade, which surprised me because I had heard great things about it and it was still pretty early in the day. Service also could’ve been a little more attentive, but it wasn’t busy so maybe it was just an off moment.
That being said, the food and atmosphere were good enough that I’ll definitely be coming back again. Looking forward to trying that lemonade next time.

Overall it was okay but slightly disappointing. The waitress seemed to have a forced but not very friendly attitude. I could best describe it as a nice nasty attitude. The sweet tea was great but nothing special about anything else. The crab dip has potential but it in my opinion could use some lump crab meat. I have been here before and was disappointed but wanted to give it another try. Its not for me. I have also been to the orginal restaurant in downtown Charleston and it is a delight! If you are going to try i would suggest making it to Charleston. The building and area is really nice but you can tell a lot about a place in Summerville that’s not packed during lunch time.

Came here for a quiet breakfast with my hubby and left full but not crave worthy. We were the only people there at 9 on a Saturday. This seemed odd to me but I guess people are in Nexton square that early. Staff was very friendly and waitress was attentive. I had the chicken and waffles and the chicken was really delicious but waffle not so much. The waffle was so dense; reminded me of the ole pancake mix in a waffle iron type of waffle. I would come back for the chicken but leave the waffle. Hubby had chicken gravy biscuits and the gravy was slightly broken but tasted good. He also enjoyed the chicken more than anything else. We will be back for fried chicken at lunch or dinner but not breakfast.

We had such an amazing experience at Poogan’s Southern Kitchen! Trinity was our waitress and she was absolutely wonderful. She was so kind, attentive, and genuinely honest about the menu — which we really appreciated. Every recommendation she made was spot on, and all of our meals were incredible!
We later found out Logan was the manager, and he personally brought food out to our table. The way he interacted with us was so personable and comforting. You can really tell he cares about the guests and the overall experience.
The food was amazing, but the service from Trinity and Logan truly made our visit special. We will definitely be back!

We had breakfast at Poogan’s kitchen this morning and it was such a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. Our server, Ali, was wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without us ever having to ask. She really made our breakfast even more enjoyable with her positive attitude and great service. We’ll definitely be back!

Clean atmosphere with very friendly service. It seems a bit cramped for space. It wasn’t too noisy but there for an early Saturday brunch where we made reservations for just 2 of us. The food was delicious and very hearty servings for a reasonable price.

The restaurant itself is super cute and the service was absolutely impeccable. Our waitress was incredibly kind and even gave us Valentine’s candy after we paid, which was such a sweet touch. The busboys were also very attentive and checked on us consistently. Truly, the service was a 10/10.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite match the experience. We both ordered steak with caramelized onions and their signature sauce. The sauce leaned very sweet, and we personally prefer something tangier like A1. We asked if they had A1 or any other steak sauce, but they don’t carry any alternative sauces at all (not even hot sauce). They also never brought the caramelized onions we requested on the side.
We also ordered fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese. The tomatoes themselves weren’t seasoned, and the pimento cheese honestly tasted store-bought. That was disappointing.
My fiancé had the steak and fries with a salad. The steak was about a 5/10 — under-seasoned. The salad was a 10/10 (can’t really mess that up), and the fries were a 6/10 but a very small portion. She also ordered the spicy honey shrimp, and those were actually excellent — 10/10.
I had the steak with Carolina gold rice and asparagus. The steak was again around a 5/10 due to being under-seasoned. The rice was very overcooked and mushy — 2/10. The asparagus was great (10/10), but the portion was very small.
We also ordered their signature Valentine’s strawberries and cream cocktail. The flavor was good (8/10), but the cream appeared to be slightly curdling in the drink, which wasn’t very appetizing. We got banana pudding to go, and that was really good — another 8/10.
Portion sizes overall were pretty small, especially considering the price point. For two people, our total came to $161, which made the food quality and portion sizes harder to justify.
Overall, the atmosphere and service were wonderful, but the food was inconsistent and underwhelming for the cost. I probably wouldn’t return unless I was specifically craving the banana pudding.
