I decided to stop today in Chemult, Oregon, and give the Ponderosa Public House a try I ordered their pizza the Ponderosa and it exceeded expectations. Homemade! Most everything on the menu was made in house and delicious. I guess being in such a rural area it is much easier to build a menu around everything you can make yourself. The Corned Beef was of course homemade and so tasty. The Large Caesar Salad was big enough for a table of 6 adults to share although it was so good we all wanted just a little more. Nice selection of local beers as well. They also took a reservation for our table of 6 which was very helpful as there are not many places to eat nearby. Would definitely come again.

If you want a meal made with love, this is the place. Fast service, super kind people, solid menu. French dip and reuben were both fabulous, and clearly homemade.
And the fries? Take note all you wanna-be-fry-fryers out there… this is how you do it. Skin-on, fresh cut, seasoned salt that’s not actually overly salty. Perfection.

When a burger gets rated, a great part of it is the bun. Our burger was not only served with special fries, but with a grilled artisan bun. The Fish and Chips special had perfect beer batter. They offer a special house dressing that can go on anything. Don’t miss this meal stop!

The space feels like home—clean, comfortable, and well cared for, with spotless restrooms and generous portions that truly satisfy. Every dish we tried tasted homemade and full of flavor, and the fries were absolutely delicious. The pizza was hands-down some of the best I’ve ever had, and even my picky kids loved it. The roast beef plate was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the Reuben was outstanding. The mixed drinks were excellent, especially the Bloody Caesar—the best I’ve ever had. Compliments to the chef, and special thanks to our server, who was incredibly helpful with local recommendations and provided amazing service throughout our visit. We will definitely be coming back—this is a must-stop and a must-try if you’re in the area.

Great little roadside eatery.. their Reuben is marked best in the world so I had to try.. hav to say it comes close but yet a ways to go yet..none the less very tasty indeed .
